One Cannot Cheat Death Twice
Dylan was chosen. Shana will live. He kept thinking of that.
He knew what happened. He didn't know her but he felt her and he cried for her death months after finding the book. He lost her before he got the chance to love her.
"I'm weird and I'm pathetic. What a combo," he thought to himself.
For almost a year, he thought of all the possibilities, how she could have jumped at the rift and how that changed everything.
Another thing that bothered him was if Shana did change the past, why were his and her words still in the notebook? Those should have disappeared. On second thought, the whole notebook shouldn't even exist in his current timeline. It didn't make sense.
It was forced. Totally forced. "When I was given the chance back then, it was freely given. The universe is generous.
But not this generous.
