The Missed Train

I didn't know I was holding my breath until my brain signaled me by making my chest hurt and my heart burn. When I finally got back to my senses, I realized that he was already gone. And so was the train.

I must have looked really stupid just gaping at the face of some guy not moving while all around me the hiss and the buzz of the early morning rush has already overtaken the usual commuters of the city. I didn't know how long I stood there after seeing the train leave before I finally decided to wake up from my daze and realized that I am already very late. The announcement from the speakers must have woken me up because I suddenly turned around and sprinted out of the station. I'd need a cab!
