Chapter 10
Fiction

With each day without Dylan, I have learned to open my heart to other people, starting with his friends. I started pursuing my first love, writing. I started writing our story. Of how we met on a simple train coach. How he pretended to be lost just to get close to me. He'd sometimes talk about weird things like seeing things change when they don't really change.

Like a true writer, I read about that phenomenon and researched long and hard and found a few books that talked about "supposed time-travels", folklore and stories everyone deemed as fictional. I also came upon an autobiography of a doctor that was "deemed" crazy by his townsfolk because he kept talking about time portals.

I added that bit to my story. "It's too painful to stick to the truth. If it's fictional, it might be easier to write," I had thought.
