Ice Breaker.. Can I Get With You?

Jenna's Help; Hit and Run

We had all just got back to my place. I was just walking into my house when my cellphone started ringing. Tyler looked at me.

"Babe, you ognna get that?" He asked me trying to hold back a laugh.

"Hmm nawh it's just Brodie probably to tell me Payton woke up while they were driving. I'll see her when they get home." I said as I yawned.

Suddenly Tylers phone was ringing. He answered.

"Hey man what's up?" 

silence

"What holy shit!" 

silence

"Yeah what about Payton has she woken up yet?"

silence

"Oh that's good."

silence

"Yeah we will be there right away." He hung up and was really pale. 

"Ty what's wrong babe?" I asked worried.

"W-we have to go. Like now!" He yelled at me to get in the car. I got in reluctantly. 

What the fuck is happening? I thought to myself. 

Tyler was driving like a mad man. I was scared. 

"Tyler slow down this isn't safe." I asked pleadingly. He didn't even look at me. His grip around the steering wheel was so tight his knuckles were white. I looked out the window and saw we were headed to the hospital.

"TYLER WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED! TELL ME RIGHT NOW!" I screamed as I got panicked.

"It's Alex and Kiana. Just shut up okay! I'll explain when we get there." He yelled back at me.

My heart sank. Tears welled in my eyes. Alex and Kiana? What happened to them? i was so worried at that point I couldn't think straight. We arrived at the hospital and I saw Brodies truck parked in the emergency parking. Tyler parked behing them and ran out. I got out and ran inside. 

"Kiana and Alex where are they?!" I asked the resptionist. 

"Are you two family members of the two?" She asked a smile on her face. How the fuck is she smiling with a job like this? 

"We are close enough." I said back to her.

"Sorry miss, only imediate family can see them." She replied. That really made me mad.

"Look lady, we are the only family they have! Their families live so far away from here! We are all they have!" I screamed in her face. Tyler grabbed my arm and pulled me into him. I broke down crying when I heard Brodie. 

"Guys come this way. They are in surgery right now. We have to wait." He said as he gestured me and Tyler to follow him. We waited in the waiting area for two hours. Finally the doctor came in. 

"Kiana James and Alex Heywoods families?" 

We all stood up and the doctor came over to us. I noticed Payton for the first time her eyes were red and puffy. I felt the tears come back and one fell down my cheek.. I quickly wiped it away. Tyler had is arms around me and I felt more calm. 

"Okay the good news is that they will be okay. But Kiana had some internal bleeding but we fixed her right up.. she should be back in a few weeks. Alex had some broken ribs and and a broken collar bone but he will be fine in about 6 or 8 weeks. They both have minor concussions so they will be staying here for awhile. You are more than welcome to stay here. Mr. Hunters has requested they get a shared private room so we have one arranged and they are up there now. It is a miricle they made it out of there alive." the doctor said I think his name was doctor Morgan. 

"How did this happen?" I asked as my voice was shaky.

"They were in a hit and run with two vehicles. The police are looking for who might have done this, but don't worry about that. Your friends need you right now more than anything, you should go see them." Dr. Morgan said as he turned to walk away. I turned and hugged Payton we both broke down crying but not a sad cry more a cry of relief.

Kiana and Alex were going to be okay, the people who hit them were gonna get what they had coming but that didn't matter. All that matters is that our best friends were going to be okay. 

We took the elevator to Kiana and Alexanders room, they were in room 324 on the third floor. I hated hospitals and after tonight I never want to back here. We walked in adn I saw Kiana laying there a few stitches on her forehead and a few on her cheek. As she lay there motionless my heart sank at the sight. You never really think about this stuff until it actually happens to you or someone close to you. I looked at alex and he had a few stitches on his head as well, but unlike Kiana he was shirtless and his upper body was wrapped and you could see where the blood was coming out on his collar and shoulder. 

"Oh my god... how could this have happened to them... it should have been me.. not Kiana or Alex.. they are such good people.. how could this happen to them.." Payton started to cry as she looked at her two friends. Brodie put his arms around Payton and she cried in his shoulder. I felt tears again I went to Tyler. I was thinking exactly what Payton said but I knew there was no way of preventing this from happening. Things just happen and we never know why. But maybe this whole situation could bring us all together.. bring us closer. 

Tyler sat down and I sat on his lap. I cried a good hour but then i started talking to my friends sleeping bodies. I know that sounds crazy but I read some where that even if someone is unconsious or something they can still hear every word your saying. I slowly drifted to a dreamless peaceful sleep.
