Courtney's POV
Their boss starts to fiddle with something behind his back, staring out the window.
"How do we tell her something like that?" He finally says. What are they suppose to tell me?
"What are you suppose to tell me? I would like to know," I snap before I could stop myself.
Ashton, who was sitting on the bed slowly shakes his head. He turns and whispers something to their boss and Malcom. I could only make out the words "shock" and "need right now". What is so shocking that they can't tell me? Who made Ashton decide what I could know and would send me into shock.
"We can't wait. For all we know she can help us. We need to tell her," their boss says, making eye contact with me. Alright now I'm scared now. It can't wait? I could help them? What if I don't want to help them? They kill my boyfriend, they took me away from my family! Nah-uh! I'm not helping them!
"Fine! But if she goes into shock, your problem," Ashton mutters.
"No, it's your problem! You know very well your conditions on," he pauses. "On staying here," he finishes.
Conditions? Staying here? What the hell does he mean? What are Ashton's conditions on staying here?
"Bring her down to my office," he nods towards to Ashton. He then nods towards Malcom and they both walked out the door.
"Stupido cazzo bastardo," mutters Ashton. He just called his boss a stupid fucking bastard? What? And what is his conditions? (Translation: Stupid fucking bastard.)
He unlocks my handcuffs and the chain around my ankle. He pulls me out of the bed and grabs my arm.
"No funny business," he whispers in my ear. "I don't need it today," he mumbles to himself.
Why has my confident dropped some much? I'm breaking. Slowly breaking. My confident is dropping. My self esteem is basically gone. I can't fight anymore.
I let Ashton lead me downstairs and around the house. Before he knocks on the door, he looks down at me.
"I'm so sorry. You've got to be strong. Betrayal is the worst feeling, but you've got to keep your head up and be strong," he whispers in my ear.
I didn't have anytime to question him, as he knocks on the door and goes straight in.
He drags me in after him and pushes me towards the chair, opposite their boss.
I gulp and uncomfortably sit down. Their boss taps a pencil against his desk and I stare at him. His light brown eyes lock into mine. I quickly lower my glance and look at my nails. I really need to cut them. There really uneven. I could paint them! Yeah, right Courtney! What man here would have nail polish? I don't think that's going to happen!
"Courtney! Look as me, when I'm talking to you," snaps their boss. Well this is a great start!
I slowly lift my gaze to look at their boss.
"Where you listening to what I was saying?" Crap, he was saying something? Should I lie? Or tell the truth?
I look down at my nails again. "No," I mumble.
