Andre's POV

I just get into bed and turn off the light when I hear Hunter, yelling my name and running down the hallway.

I slowly get out of bed and walk out the door to meet a breathless Hunter, pointing at the lounge room. What is he trying to say?

"What?" I ask.

"Courtney! S-she ran," mumbles Hunter. "I tried chasing her but she was too fast."

"Shit! What way did she go?"

"East. She went east." Hunter replies.

"Shit, shit, shit! Call boss and try to get every man looking for her. She can't be out there alone. And she can definitely not go to police." I snap. This isn't quite the way I wanted to spend my first Sunday night, when I'm not working.

Hunter just nods and runs down the hallway. I chuck on a shirt and run after him. Why did you run, Courtney! This isn't what I need right now! I don't need this anytime! I grab my phone and find Ashton's number."

"What?" He mutters through the phone. "You do realise it's nearly two in the morning!"

"I really don't care!" I snap. "Courtney's done another runner." The line went quite.

"So I need you to get your fucking ass over here and help me find her." I say, before hanging up.

I sit down on the couch and massage my temples. Why didn't I wake her up and get her to sleep with me? Or handcuff to the couch? Or sleep with her on the couch? Or just not sleep at all? Life regrets. Boss is going to kill me!

I look up as Ashton bursts through the front door.

"Alright, Hunter told me she went east." I mutter.

"East. There's a major highway, thirteen kilometres, east. Do you reckon she could of made it that far?"

"Possibly. She managed to outrun Hunter." I sigh. If she outran Hunter, we've got no chance of finding her.

"Hey Andre. I just got off the phone with boss. He wants us to go east, while everyone else go south, in case she changed direction. And Ashton, he wants you back at the house, when we get her." Hunter interrupts.

"Alright, let's go." I quickly get up and grab my car keys. "Keep your eyes peeled." I demand to Hunter.

***

"She's been out for an hour." Hunter mumbles.

"I know that." I snap. "She could be anywhere by now!"

"She could of- wait! What was that?"

I look out the window to see someone running down an alley to the highway.

"It's worth a try. Get out and I'll go around the corner." I shout.

As soon as Hunter gets out, I park the car around the corner and wait in the dark.

I hear Hunter approach her and start talking to her. At least we found her. I sigh in relief. I was about to walk around to the corner, when someone runs into my chest. I look down to see Courtney fly across the pavement and hit her back against the wall.

"You can certainly run, Courtney." I mutter, crouching down to her level. "Did you enjoy your hour of freedom?" I say, smirking.

She didn't say anything. I grab her elbow and pull her up. That's when I noticed the blood trickling down the back of head. I decide to pick her up and carry her to the car.
