Spencer's POV

Eighteen months? How can someone hide from the mafia for that long?

It's been eighteen months exactly since Courtney gave Alessandro the slip at the mall. How? This is stupid. No one can hide from us for that long. Why did she even run? And how is she managing to stay hidden? We haven't even had a lead. How can someone hide from us for so long?

"Boss! Boss, I've think we've found something!" Luca yelled, rushing towards me. "One of the guys in New York sent a photo. It really does look like her."

Luca gives me his phone and I sigh. "It's definitely her alright. Blonde is a nice hair colour."

"Couldn't agree more. What are you going to do?"

"Well I might take you and Matt over to New York for a bit. But why New York?"

"Maybe she thought she could hide being in America. She probably doesn't know we took over gangs in America and now are based here. I have no idea what was going through her mind. Why would she even run?"

"Honestly I have no idea. Can you go tell Matt, we're flying to New York as soon as possible."

Luca nods and heads towards down the hallway. We're coming for you Courtney. And when we find you, you're not going to like what's coming. Why would she even run?

I head down into my office and grab my overnight bag. I always have a bag packed, just in case I need to travel with short notice.

I grab my bag and Courtney's file off my desk. That's right, Courtney even got her own file.

After Uncle Roderigo stepped down from the leader of the mafia, I was determined to find her. Although uncle wanted to do it, I was going to make her life a living hell. Uncle had gone off half way across the world to try and live a somewhat normal rest of his life but I was going to find Courtney. Even if it's the last thing I do, I'm going to find her. But why would she run? There was nothing to be worried about. And now there's a lot more to be worried about.

I finally get myself ready and head out to the cars. "Boss I hear we're taking a trip to New York." Matt says, laughing.

"Sure are. We might even bump into an old friend there. Who knows?"

Finally, after just under five hours of flying, we touch down in New York. Thank God for that. I've never been a good flyer. Yep, the Italian Mafia boss is scared of flying. You heard that right, one of the most feared men in the world is scared of flying.

"Alright this is the plan," I say as we get into the car, waiting for us. "We drive straight over to Courtney's house and get answers."

"That's a brilliant plan boss," Luca jokes.

"I know right. We aren't sure how many people are going to be in the house so be prepared."

Luca nods and Matt hums.

We finally arrive at Courtney's house. It's not a bad house. Decent size.

I stroll up the path and head straight to the front door. I knock twice and I hear footsteps from the other side of the door. The door finally opens and there stands a pretty shocked Courtney. Surprise!

Courtney's POV

Who could be at the door? Should I open it? I finally decide to open it and what stands on the other side leaves me speechless. Are you fucking joking? How did he find me? It's been eighteen months! Eighteen fucking months! Oh my God! Eighteen months and now he has found me. Oh my God!

I go to slam the door but he pushes it back open and walks in. Oh God, no. But what's even worst, Matt and Luca follow him in. I'm in deep shit right now. Really, really deep shit. They need to leave. They need to leave right now.

"Please just leave," I beg. "You really need to go."

"Uh-uh. Not going to happen Courtney. I think I deserve an explanation, don't you?"

"Who's at the door, Cara?" Shit I am so screwed.

"Just no one." I look back at Spencer to see him raising his eyebrows.

"Mummy who's him?" Abigail walks into the room, pointing at Spencer. Shit I am so screwed.

"Courtney care to explain?" Spencer says, looking from Abigail to me and back to to Abigail.

"I-" before I could explain, I hear someone groan and a thud. I look over to see my husband, Zane, dead on the floor.

"What the fuck? What do you want Spencer?" Tears freely fall from my cheeks. "Why did you just kill him? What did he do to you?"

"Cara, what's going on," Elijah walks in. "What the fuck happened to dad? And who the fuck are these people?"

"Courtney?" Spencer starts. "What the fuck is going on? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't blow your brains out right now."

"Spencer please. I just couldn't live with you anymore. I was scared and I took the opportunity to run. I came to New York, meet Zane and we just got married. He already had Elijah and Abigail from a previous marriage." Now just leave. Don't ask anymore questions. Just leave.

"You're hiding something," Luca blurts out. Thanks a lot Luca!

"I'm not hiding anything. Can you please just leave."

"We're not just leaving Courtney. You knew what would happen if you run. But now that I'm the new boss, I get to make your life a living hell." Spencer snaps. Spencer is the new boss? What happened to his uncle? Wait, why do I care? I'm glad his not the boss anymore.

"DON'T MOVE!" Matt suddenly yells. I spin around to see Elijah moving towards my mobile phone. This isn't going to end well.

"Eli, its fine. Just don't do anything stupid."

"But Cara there is armed men in our house, that just killed dad! You're telling me it's fine? Bullshit Cara! It's anything but fine! Who even are they? And why are they calling you Courtney? Your name is Cara."

"Mum, what's happening?" Oh God, of course she comes in now. I look over to see Tilly walking in, holding Owen. This is even better.

"Courtney how many people are in this house?" Spencer asks.

"That's it," I mumble.

"Are you sure?" He questions and I just nod.

"Alright sit in a group and don't move."

Slowly Tilly walks over and I take Owen off her. Elijah takes Abigail and sits her in his lap. Well this is just great. Just fucking great!

"Spencer please just leave. I'm not even going by my real name anymore. No one knows who I am."

"Are you fucking joking right now?" He suddenly yells.
