The Day That (Almost) Everything Went Wrong

That day was hard. I was failing potions, the class that I usually thrive in, my hair was a mess, and my crush on Potter was bigger than ever before.

By the middle of the day, I was like a ticking time bomb. Any little thing could set me off. All through defense against the dark arts, that annoying mudblood, Granger, knew all the answers. She kept raising her hand and I was getting angrier and angrier. I clenched my fist to keep from slapping her across that ugly face.

At dinner, Crabbe spilt pumpkin juice all over my robes, and of course who was right there to laugh at me? The Golden Trio. I gave Potter an extra long stare, and his beautiful smile faded a bit. I looked into his gorgeous green eyes, and he looked into my tired gray ones. I quickly turned around and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen out of my bag.

Potter,
meet me in the Slytherin common room.
Tonight.
8:00.
Come alone.
-Malfoy

I crumpled up the note and threw it at his head. After looking around like an idiot for a moment, he found it, and read my messy hand writing. He looked at me, confusion flashing across his face, and nodded slowly. I guess that's that. Tonight's the night I'll tell Potter that I have a crush on him.

Finally, 8:00 was approaching, and I was pacing around the common room. I had uncomfortable knots in my stomach, and my heart was pounding. My hands shook, and I fidgeted nervously.

"Malfoy?" I heard some one call at last. (I had left the password on the note I gave him earlier so he could get in.) I spun around, and there he was, looking as gorgeous as ever. He was just a bit shorter than me, and his robes bunched ever so slightly around his feet. His hair was messy, yet still looked neat. How do you make that happen?

"Potter..." I started, trailing off.

"Did you want something?" he asked, shifting under my gaze. I blinked, and came back to reality.

"I've got a question," I answered.

"Well what is it?"

"Uh, I've got this friend, and he likes you, but you don't like him..."

"What's his name?"

"Um...well..."

Potter smirked.

My face fell and I turned around. You fucked up. You absoloute idiot, of course he doesn't like you. I sadly sat down on the couch, my hand holding up my head. Potter sat down next to me, and placed a hand on my shoulder.

*Five Years Later*

It was crazy. One second I was sad, the next I was happy...all because Harry kissed my cheek. I asked him to be my boyfriend that night, and it was the best decision I've ever made. Last year he asked me to marry him. I, of course said yes, and last month we were married. Life has never been better.
