Harry's POV
I hugged my pillow tightly, trying to fall asleep. It was another late work day for Draco, and I hadn't seen him since early that morning. This was the third time this week that he'd been this late, and I'm sick of it.I was half asleep when a fumbling sound made my eyes pop open. I sat up, and reached for my glasses. Shadows danced on the wall as I walked downstairs, happily anticipating the moment when I would see my boyfriend. He looked up when the stairs creaked, and I could see the smile form from where I was.
"Harry!" he said as I walked down the rest of the stairs. He engulfed me in a hug, and I smiled.
"I'll be right up, just go back to bed," he told me.
"Okay. I love you," I responded.
"I love you too," I pecked his lips, and went back upstairs.
I felt like I was lying in that empty bed forever. I knew he had to take a shower and everything, but did it always take this long?
Finally, after what felt like years, Draco walked into our bedroom, and lied down next to me. I wrapped my arms around him instantly, and he kissed my forehead. I could smell the floral shampoo he used mixed with the musky conditioner that made his hair soft and touchable. His breath was minty and warm against my face, and I smiled, no longer feeling lonely. I wasn't done taking in my boyfriend's beauty when he began to talk.
"How was your day?" he asked me. His voice was between a whisper and normal volume.
"Long. Very, very long. How about you?"
"Busy. Very, very busy," he said, copying me. I smiled, and pulled him in for a lazy kiss. His lips tasted like artificial strawberries, a taste I had grown familiar with. Although I didn't like his choice of chap-stick at first, I learned to like it, and I even bought myself one with the same flavor one time. But I, of course, didn't tell Draco this.
"I love you, scarhead," he told me. I looked into his beautiful gray eyes, and allowed myself to get lost in them. They were like a gorgeous, swirly storm that never ceased. Like a storm that kept on going. Once, I told him that I compared his eyes to a storm and he said, "This storm is going for you, my love." He meant it as a joke, but it made me blush. Now every time I look into his eyes, I think of those eight words.
"I love you too, Draco."
That night, I had weirdest dream. I was sitting in bed when suddenly, rain began to fall. I searched the entire house, but I couldn't find Draco. He was just...gone. Like magic. And the rain was getting so heavy that I grabbed some blankets, and went down to the basement.
I finally gathered the courage to look out the window, so I walked up to the glass. It was, in a way, bad to say, but it was kind of...beautiful. The clouds were curling together, and the rain almost seemed to blend it all. Then it all came to an abrupt stop, and the overwhelming scent of a floral...something invaded my nose.
A knock sounded from upstairs, and I instantly raced to see who it was. I (almost in slow motion) pulled open the door, and there stood Draco, soaking wet but still handsome. He wrapped his arms around me, and there was that floraly smell again. My arms reached up, and I hugged him back."Are you okay?"
"I am now."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"You seem scared."
"I'm okay."
"Just listen to my heartbeat, Harry. Its there just for you."
I think Draco really needs to stop staying at work so late.
