Chapter one: Chewy

Mike

"CHEWY!" "CHEWY WHERE ARE YOU?" I hear Dustin screaming from outside my window. I hear Lucas come out from his house groaning " Ugh not again, will you ever learn to control that damn dog?"

I wander outside to join the search for Dustin's dog Chewy. He is a rescue so he's not a puppy but he's not old either, he's a really good dog apart from that he is continually running away. "Seriously Dustin?", I mutter as I close the front door and approach them. "Whaaaat?", he groans, "How many times has he gone missing this week Dustin? Tell me again." I tease. Lucas smirks. " FOUR!" he yells like a crazy person. Lucas and I burst out laughing. " It's not funny, he could be in danger." Dustin argues but I can see him starting to smile.

Lucas

"Come on, he's probably a Wills house again." Mike said grinning and we headed for our bikes.
Chewy is great to have around. Dustin's parents got him as a present for Dustin's birthday last summer. He's massive, fluffy and brown so Dustin was pretty set on naming him after one of his favourite movie characters of all time. The only downside to this dog is his ability to escape Dustin's backyard.
We eventually arrived at Will's place as it was getting dark and we were sure he would be there. It's strange but something about Will draws him there.

Will

It was just getting dark as I heard a knock at my door. I was in the kitchen drawing so Jonathan answered the door.
"Is he here?" Dustin asked, pushing past Jonathan, looking around. I looked at him with a puzzled expression. "He's not here guys, HES NOT HERE!" Dustin began yelling in a panic as Mike walked calmly over. "Chewy." He stated shaking his head, I immediately understood. "Sorry Dustin." I shouted back smirking.
"Hey boys, what's going on?" "Hey Miss Byers" the boys chorused. "Chewy is missing again." Lucas said shaking his head. "Aww that's too bad Dustin, and he's not here?" My mom said looking at me. I shook my head in response. "I hope you boys find him, I gotta go out, I'll see you later." She waved before closing the door and heading out to her car.

"Jonathan, where's mom going?" I asked confused. "For dinner, with Hopper." He responded calmly. "Chief Hopper?" All the boys yelled. "Well yeah it's not a big deal, they are just friends." Jonathan replied before walking to his room.

Dustin

Chief Hopper? Well I never thought I'd see the day. Lucas glanced out the window, " Crap!" He shouted startling everyone, " I gotta go, mum wanted me home before six and it's 5:55." "Yeah we'd better go too Dustin." Mike said shoving me gently. "But what about Chewy?" I argued. "We can look for him tomorrow, it's the weekend remember?" I shrugged and headed for the door following the others. We all said bye to Will and planned to meet up in the morning.
