Chapter 6: Eve

Dustin

"It can't get you here, we will keep you safe." Lucas told the trembling girl, he wasn't sure of himself but we Mike and I nodded in hope that it would calm her down.
"So, Twelve," I began as she looked up at me with icy blue eyes,"you came from Hawkins Lab right?" She nodded slowly deep in thought. "I was born there, my sister and I both were." It still astonished me that her ability to talk was well, normal. "Your sister?" Mike questioned, she nodded again. "Yeah, my twin and I were both born there. From when we were about four the people ran weird tests on us to see if we had..." she stopped for a few seconds to think. "Abilities." She said furrowing her eyebrows. Mike's eyes grew wide as he began to question her, hoping she would know something about El. "Your sister, what is her name, what number is on her arm?" She looked at him with puzzled eyes as to why he would be so inthralled with such details. "Eleven." She said sadly, "But I haven't seen her since-" she began before Mike cut her off. "Eleven, did you say Eleven? Your sister is El?" He started shouting. "Mike stop!" Lucas said firmly and Mike stopped realising that he was scaring Twelve. "Sorry I... I just can't believe it, she never said anything about, a sister." He apologised and looked down. "Wait you've seen her?" Her eyes lit up, "I thought she was gone." "She was here a year ago today, when, well it's a long story." I began but she insisted we tell her, so the three of us told her the story of Will's disappearance, finding El and fighting the Demogorgan.

Mike

It was so hard to talk about, whenever Lucas or Dustin said her name my heart ached. But there is hope, this girl is her sister, her twin sister. If she has powers, she can help us find El, I know it.
When we finished telling her the story she sat there silently for a few minutes, tears rolling down her cheeks. "She's alive." I said trying to cheer her up, "How do you know?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, "Because I can feel it." I said smiling through my pain and she did the same.
Lucas decided it would be best to change the subject to try and take our minds off El. "Do you like being called Twelve?" He asked and she smiled, "In the lab, there was this nice lady who took care of me, she used to call me Eve, I'm not sure why she did but I liked it." She said smiling softly. "Then Eve it is!" Lucas declared with a grin on his face and her face lit up.
"Eve I really have to ask, do you have powers?" Dustin questioned and Lucas groaned, rolling his eyes. I laughed but I was eager to know as well. "See that's the thing," she began looking down, "they tested both Eleven and I but after years of trying with me they gave up because I showed no signs of having any." As those words came out of her mouth my heart dropped, she wouldn't be able to help us.
"I was locked in a tiny room every day, the only contact I got with people was the lady who came in and read to me. I haven't seen Eleven for three years." She broke down and Lucas got up and comforted her and she didn't question it.

Will

"Not again!" I groaned running to the bathroom, hurling up another slug. "Will, do you want me to call mom?" I hear Jonathan yelling from the kitchen. I had told him I had a stomach bug, "No, I'm ok Jonathan!" I shouted back. "I'll make you a doctors appointment then." I heard him shout as I walked out of the bathroom and I suddenly panicked. "No Jonathan! Please I'll be fine!" I shouted, "Fine but as soon as mom gets home, she'll start to panic." He warned me, "I'll be better by then anyway." I tried to assure him.
I can't see a doctor, no way is that happening. I'll just have to force them down until it stops. But what about my dream? And that girl? What if it happens again? If it does I'm telling the boys, surely they will know what to do.
