Mike was first to wake up. He looked like he didn't get much sleep at all, there were dark circles under his eyes and his cheeks were red and puffy as though he had been crying. When he noticed me looking he quickly turned away, sniffling a bit. After what seemed like forever of awkward silence he finally spoke up. "So what do you want for breakfast? I'll ask mom to start making it." Food. That word would usually take my mind off anything, but not today. "I'm not that hu-" I began before I was cut off by Mike's walkie talkie crackling. Mike stood up slowly and walked over to it, pulling up the antenna to get a better signal. "Mike do you copy?" It was Lucas. "Yeah, me and Dustin are here, what's up? Over." He spoke rubbing his eyes and yawning. "Will is here and he wants to tell us something, over." "We should go to the car yard" I suggested and Mike nodded, "Meet at the car yard in ten minutes. Over and out."

We grabbed our backpacks and Mrs Wheeler made sure we took some snacks, then we headed for the back door to get our bikes. "Maybe he's worried, cause you know it's been a year and everything." I shouted to mike as we rode down the dirt track, "yea maybe." He looked down with a frown and furrowed his eyebrows. "Shoot" I whispered under my breath realising that I had just reminded him of her. Not that he has ever forgotten, and I'm sure he never will. Eleven was the greatest thing that happened to him. He loved her, we all did, but not the way he did. If there was any way to get her back she would be here with us today. We have tried countless times but nothing has worked and it's slowly breaking Mike.

I couldn't get her out of my head and it doesn't help with Dustin comments, I know he doesn't try to remind me but it's not like I'd forget. As we arrived at the yard Will looked noticeably worried and kind of scared. It made me a bit nervous. "Hey guys." Lucas waved in our direction and we hopped off our bikes and headed over to them. "So what did you want to tell us Will?" I questioned noticing his gaze drop to the ground. "Well" he started, taking a deep breath in, "Since I came back from that awful place," "The upside down?" Dustin cut in, "Yeah..." he continued. "I have been having these really bad nightmares and well, most nights I um, I..." "Spit it out, come on" Lucas spat out, looking a little annoyed. "Ok, ok so I have been like sick most nights, like throwing up. Dustin don't look at me like that, it's serious!" Dustin shrugged and stopped making a stupid face. "Ok so let me just say it, I have been throwing up slugs." He immediately looked down and Dustin look like he was going to gag, Lucas just stood there looking confused. "And with the nightmares," Will slowly started, unzipping his bag and taking out what looked like his pyjamas. I closely examined them. "Is that blood?" I said slowly and Will nodded. "WHAT THE HECK WILL!" Dustin started screaming. "Ugh shut up and let me explain!" Will shot out silencing us all. "In my dream last night I wasn't me, I was the mon-" Will was suddenly cut off by a familiar dog bark.

"CHEWY!" Dusting shouted as the large brown dog ran around the corner and straight past Dustin open arms. "Wait Chewy!" Dustin ran for his bike and we all followed leaving Will to stuff his pyjamas back in his bag and try to catch up. We rode as fast as we could, Chewy looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to go, like he wanted us to follow. "He's headed for Mirkwood." Lucas shouted to us as the dog stopped suddenly behind a tree. Lucas ditched his bike and ran to the other side of the tree. "Uh guys... I think you'd better come here right now." Dustin and I ditched our bikes and ran to the other side of the tree. "What the..."
