It turns out he was that cruel. She received the documents three days later stating that Jonas Malino was filing for sole custody of the baby she was carrying and was to appear in court in four days. That was what cause her to be in the mess she was in now, she hadn’t leave her apartment from yesterday morning and it was eight in the night now. She was lying on the bed still crying her eyes, she hadn’t eaten anything from yesterday.
She was so lonely, Kelly and her family had gone to visit her husband’s parents and she was here in the dark with no one to talk to or no shoulder to cry on. How could he do this to her? One thing she was sure of, she wasn’t letting him get her babies. She was going to fight to the end and she won’t let anything stand in her way. Sniffling she wiped her nose and got up to take a shower, she would then find something to eat cause damn she was starving.
She would keep her babies no matter what, and with that determination Emma was feeling much better. Plus she didn’t want puffy eyes, her boss at the accounting firm where she worked was having a ball tomorrow and he had invited her. She was determined to go and have fun no matter the troubles she had now. It’s been a while since she had gone out. “Ok. You’ll get something to eat in a minute,” her babies were kicking her and she smiled. She loved them so much.
Emma arrived at the party some minutes after seven wearing a dark blue tight dress that out lined her stomach. She wasn’t happy about that since her belly was so big and she didn’t particularly like how some women were looking at her, it just made her feel disgusting and nasty to look at. She had bought a green dress to wear that would have dropped over her belly a week ago but her roommate couldn’t get it to zip up over her breast. She had grown it out like almost all her cloths.
This dress was all she had that was suitable enough to wear. She sighed and run a hand through her long black hair that she left down, it reached as far as the small of her back. She handed her invitation card to a man at the front and stepped inside, no sooner she was greeted by her boss.
“I was beginning to think you weren’t going to make it,”
“Couldn’t find anything to wear, the dress I bought got too small for me,” her boss was like a big brother and she loved working for him, even though it was such a short time since they’ve known each other. He was just a little bit taller than her, enough to make her look up in his face though, muscular built with friendly blue eyes and a cute full mouth. He was handsome and many women fawn over him at the office even though he was married with a six month old baby boy
Marcus chuckled. “I know what you mean. Come on, my wife has been waiting for you, she’s at our table already and there is someone I want you to meet when he gets here. I’ve known him since we were kids; he’s like a brother to me.” He took her hand.
Emma followed Marcus throw a group of tables which were all filled with occupants dressed in tuxedos and dresses. She could see his wife from here, Kim waved at her. The party was held in a studio a few blocks from the office and it was wonderfully decorated in white decorative. “The place looks wonderful,” she commented. A few couples were dancing to a low jazz beat, she missed dancing. “Would you mind much dancing with a fat pregnant lady, I haven’t danced since I was fourteen years old.” She sighed remembering those awful days she almost never survived.
“How comes?” he asked genuinely puzzled.
Before thinking she said “There was never anything to dance about really, I spent most of my teen days just going to school and returning home. Someone was- is after me. He wants revenge for…” she cut her self off before she could finish, she had never meant to say anything on that matter. She didn’t want to put him or his family in danger and that was what she was doing buy telling him. Looking up at him she saw the intense look in his eyes and before she knew it he pulled her off to the side.
