Chapter 24

The next morning Emma made sure to wake up before Jonas and get ready. She was determine to prove that she could work despite being pregnant because she personally didn't see what the big deal was. After she showered and dressed, she went down stairs and made breakfast. By the time Jonas got down the stairs she had eggs, bacon and tossed bread ready for consumption. She grinned cockily at his surprised expression 'what’s all this?'

'Well I don't know... it's early and there's food so I'm guessing...'

'Don't be a smart ass. You didn't have to wake to make breakfast,' she scowled at him and his over protectiveness.

'A thank you would have worked wonderful,' she said cocking her hands in her non existing hips.

He sighed and smiled softly 'Thank you.'

'I don't want it anymore,' she shook her head disappointedly before bursting out in laughter. His face showed concern that he had somehow upset her and she couldn't hold in her laugher anymore. 'So have a seat and eat,' His concerned face turn into a deep scowl as he sit down.

They proceed to eat and she glowed when her husband’s eyes light up in obvious delight after eating the eggs she's made. Kelly had taught her a secret ingredient to add to scramble eggs and she was grateful now. He got up and kissed her deep. After the toe curling kiss, she wash the dishes-much to Jonas' annoyance- before they head out.

Again Jonas argued with her about her car but she ignored him. 'Please be careful and drive slowly,' he muttered before leaning down and kissing her. Emma sighed and nodded, feeling a little guilty that she was making him worry. They left for work after that.

The rest of the week continued much in the same fashion. Emma wake up early and make breakfast for her husband. More than once he had scowled at her for waking up an extra hour, saying she needed the extra sleep. And when it came time for them to leave for work, he argued against her for how unsafe her car was. It was getting on her nerves and she had told him so but he still refuse to shut up about it. The asshole was insistent about getting his way on buying a new vehicle for her. It wasn’t that her car hold any sentimental values, in a way it was the only material thing that remind her of her old life. Another reason why she holds on to it was that it pissed Jonas off. His controlling tendencies at point makes her want to fight him, make him angry and she kinds of enjoy their little squabble each morning.

Aside from their usual argument, things were great between them. Marriage life was surprisingly good, her husband was attentive, caring and on the really great days she thought she saw adoration in his eyes. It made her swoon that maybe he was on his way to loving her. It wasn't her mission to make him fall in love with her, but she would like that very much if she was honest with herself. It would mean that he didn't see her as just a woman carrying his twins, but a woman capable of being his woman.

Even though she was enjoying being with her husband and getting to know him, it still bugged her that there is still a part of himself he didn't let her or anyone see. Well not everyone- maybe his brothers knew him, the true him and every aspect of what others didn’t get to see.

She had never really seen him get vulnerable or let his guard down. He was always so in control of everything and everyone in his environment. She would have like to see him be more open with her, more relaxed like a normal couple. But she keeps forgetting that they weren’t a normal couple and their journey had started backwards. Instead of meeting and getting to know each other, they slept together, and then baby, then marriage and then the getting to know each other. Emma also noticed that even though Jonas had marriage her because of the babies, it was hard for him to let go and be less in control of his emotions. When it comes on to the twins she had noticed sometimes he finds it hard to caress her stomach than other times. She wonders during those times of barely touching her stomach, what he thinks about. Anytime she starts talking to her babies and encourage Jonas to say something, he immediately shut down. She guessed he wasn't ready to be fully 'open' with her and let his emotions show.
