"Alright I'm going to partner you guys together. Don't even think about complaining." The teacher yells.

"Tucker and Riley, Jocelyn and James, Jace and Juliette, Harry and Tamara." The teacher continues naming names but I've given up on listening.

"You want to start skipping or me?" Jace asks.

"I'll go first I guess."

I grab the rope from his hands and start skipping.

Jace looks over my shoulder for a brief moment before turning his attention to me.

"So are you and Harry dating?" He asks.

"No..." I say looking at him weirdly.

"Didn't think so."

"And why is that?" I ask a little annoyed.

"He doesn't do that."

"Christ, does everyone say that?" I ask getting frustrated.

"Well it's just a fact Juliette."

"Why did you even think we were dating?"

"Apparently you guys hang out." He says shrugging

"Apparently?"

"So I've heard. Plus Harry is usually a one night stand type of guy..."

"Ya ya I've heard that already."

"It's weird that he would keep you around."

"What? You think he's just going to stop hanging out with me?" I ask.

"Well... honestly yes. I mean once he starts getting close to someone, and close as in hanging out, he pushes them away." He answers.

I stare at him without answering.

"Just like Justin."

"What?"

"Just like Jocelyn... he did that to Jocelyn. He never really seemed interested in her though. Nowhere as close to you." He says looking behind me once again.

"Do you even talk to Harry?" I ask.

"No."

"Then why do you know so much about him?" I ask while I continue skipping.

"Juliette we've all heard things."

"Heard things? Jace do you hear yourself? You don't even know the guy and you're judging him based on what you've heard? People always blow things out of proportion. Or sometimes it is true but you don't know the story behind it, do you? You always see it from a second hand perspective so who are you to judge?" I challenge.

I've had enough of people telling me to be careful.

"Watch out he's a player." "He's going to stop hanging out with you." "He's using you."

"You don't need the story Juliette. It's obvious, we see it. There's no need for explanation. Any time I talked to him or asked him about a girl he would always smirk and shit."

I stop skipping and shove the skipping rope in Jace's hands.

"Look Juliette. I like you and I don't want him to hurt you. Ask any other girl around this school and they'll tell you. They get attracted to his 'charm' and then get dumped on their ass." He says while skipping. His words are a little choppy.

"You don't need to warn me. I'm not a child." I say while crossing my arms over my chest. Jace glances down and immediately looks back at my face.
