It's finally here. The boys have been prepping for this day since March. It's our home opener and the crowd is electrified. The boys are getting ready to run out of the tunnel and I can practically smell the excitement in the air. It has been a struggle to get to this point but after many sleepless nights we finally made it. Julian and I have been together for a month and a half. The public hasn't found out yet and it's nice to not have the tabloids centered around us any more than they are already.
Right before the announcers call out the patriots to run other the field Julian pulls me aside into an alcove in the cement wall,"Did everyone get to their seats?" He asked me. We had paid for our parents to fly in and his siblings also. All of them got prime seats right behind the end zones. We offered to put them in a box, but all of them insisted on sitting with the crowd.
"Yes everyone is in their seats with food and ready to see you kick ass,"I told him as I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips. Julian and I have never been together during the regular season. This is foreign territory for us and I don't know how it is going it turn out.
"That's the hope,"He kissed me on the lips again and then pulled away. The music started playing and Julian zipped out of the tunnel faster then I could blink. He always loved home games because of how much the crowd would get into it. He always egged them on and they loved him.
The trainers walked out of the tunnel and Sophia came up behind me. "You and Julian are getting awful comfy with each other." I slipped my sunglasses over my eyes. It was extremely bright in the stadium and it was going to be a hot day. I would take a hot game over a cold game any day. When the weather was cold muscles tense up which causes lots of injuries.
I smiled in response,"I can't believe it's already been a month and half." We walked over to where our table was situated and I set out everything that we would need for today's game. The coin toss would be in 5 minutes and then it was game time.
"Pffft you guys have been together for a lot longer than that,"Sophia said as she slipped her sunglasses over her face. We turned to the field where the guys were doing one quick team warmups.
"We have been friends for longer than that, but we have only been dating for a month and a half,"I corrected as I scanned the end zone for my family. I couldn't see them through the mass of blue, red and white.
"Are you really trying to tell me that you and Julian were just friends and that you were never anything more?"Sophia asked me. I had gotten this question many times. Everyone thought that Julian and I have been fooling around for years, but the truth is we have never slept together. Even now. Julian and I decided to wait a little bit before we slept together. I'm not saying we haven't done other stuff because that would be a lie.
"Julian and I were nothing more than friends up until a month and a half ago,"My eyes followed his body as he ran up and down the field. He wasn't running at full speed as he needed to preserve his energy, but he was running enough to calm his nerves for the game. Even with how long Julian has been in the league he still gets nervous before any game home or away.
"You guys just seemed closer then that. But now that you are together how is he in bed?"She asked me while wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. I blushed and kept my eyes directed towards Julian.
"We haven't exactly.....had sex yet."I confessed this as my face turned a darker red. Julian and I are all over each other all the time so I don't blame Sophia for thinking that we are sleeping together. The guys are used to walking in on Julian and I making out and when we are just standing around talking his hands are around my waist on resting on my ass.
"Are you serious right now? You have to be joking,"Sophia seemed completely shocked and again I ducked my head. Julian had no problem talking about his sex life but I was a little more shy about it. Especially when I am in public.
"We decided to wait,"I told her. Sophia didn't say anything else and I felt relieved. The last thing I wanted was for my family to ask why I was so flustered later. I walked over to where Sophia and I stand during the game. It's time to get this season started.
The boys came out playing strong, but the Bengals came out playing strong. They wanted to win in Gillette to prove that the patriots weren't the top dog. Julian was working his ass off to make catches that would convert third downs but he hadn't caught a touchdown pass.
It was late in the second quarter and the boys were driving. The score was 17-13. We were down by 4. I knew that Uncle Bill wanted to go into halftime with the lead.
Andrews snapped the ball and Brady passed it off to the running back, but the bengals front 4 immediately stopped him. Loss of 1. The boys went back to the huddle and then lined back up.
Brady called another play and then the center hiked the ball. Julian and Danny ran down field and through their routes. Rob stayed in to help block. I watched at Brady looked for an open reciever. He saw that Julian had separated from the corner that was supposed to be covering him. Tom threw the ball and it sailed through the air right into Julian's waiting hands. The corner didn't even have a chance at stopping him. He flew right into the end zone with no one even coming close to touching him.
He passed the ref the ball as soon as they ruled it a touchdown. He started running towards the sidelines. I was confused because normally Julian celebrated a little bit with the team, but not enough to get a flag.
Once he reached the sidelines he came right towards me. I shook my head because I knew what he was going to do, but that didn't stop him. He came barreling towards me and then pulled off his helmet. I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck once he was close enough. His arms wrapped around my waist as we kissed. His lips were salty from sweat and I was probably getting some of the eye black on my face from him. I could hear the crowd cheering and whistling at us. He pulled away fairly quickly as he needed to make sure Uncle Bill didn't want to go for 2.
"How was that for a touchdown celebration?"He whispered against my lips. I just grinned at him and shook my head. He let me go and we looked onto the field. He was still standing close to me but as soon as the defense went onto the field he would have to go over the drive with Josh. We watched as Stephen nailed the extra point. The special teams players set up for the kickoff and Julian went back to the bench. I walked back to my table and Sophia was just laughing her ass off.
"You guys were on the jumbo screen for like a solid 2 minutes,"She teased and I just laughed. I couldn't wait to see what our families thought. We had said we were going to wait and tell them tonight, but I guess Julian just threw our entire plan out the window, not that I minded.
"Well the fans definitely know now,"I focused back in on the game and just prayed for no injuries.
2 1/2 hours later the boys were beyond pumped up about an over time win against the Bengals. They were all celebrating in the locker room. I waited for them to get changed and then came in and addressed minor injuries and taped up ankles and shoulders. After Uncle Bill gave his end of game speech the boys were free to go.
"Edelman are you and Abbi coming out to the club?" Cyrus Jones asked Julian. Jules looked at me and I shook my head slightly. I knew that he might want to go out with the guys but our families were in town and I knew they were going to have questions after the show we put on during the game.
"Nah we have family in town and they are going to want to hang out with us,"Julian told him as I went back to putting away my supplies.
"Damn Abs you got him whipped already and you have only been dating a month,"Cyrus joked as he put his cleats at the bottom of his locker.
"Dude let's be honest she has had me whipped way longer than that,"Julian said as he came over to me and grabbed my hand. I blushed and we called out goodbyes to the guys as we walked out of the locker room. We walked to the parking lot in silence with smiles on our faces. Or at least there was a smile on my face until I saw my mothers and Julian's mom standing by our with huge frowns on our faces.
AN: Heyyyyy. So I am sorry about the wait, but good news I have the next 3 chapters planned out so they should be updated fairly quickly. Tell me what you think! VOTE AND COMMENT PLEASE!
