Hello Lovelies, I am back again this week! My commenter of the week is @POLY-BEATDOWN (this won't create a link and I don't know why so sorry!) I loved your criticism so thank you for that.
Chapter 18
Week 8 NFL Season Bye Week
Record: 5-2
3 weeks since breakup
The waves lapped at my feet as I stretched back in my beach chair. I close my eyes and the sun heated my face. I sigh rolled out of my mouth. I was on a beach in California far away from any drama with my ex boyfriend.
It has been a long three weeks of tense conversation with him trying to apologize multiple times and me ignoring him. I don't interact with him unless necessary and I gave Sophia the job of overseeing his medical care. She ran all decisions by me and I gave the final say but I didn't talk to him we did that all through Sophia and it was only medical discussions.
Julian returned to the field 2 weeks after the suffered his injury. He really could have played 1 week after, but I had a feeling Uncle Bill kept him out of the second game as punishment.
The media was all over me right after Julian's 'interview' with the paps that night came out. They all wanted my reaction and to see if I was going to seek revenge. I didn't give any interviews and I didn't comment on anything to do with Julian. I posted stuff on social media but it had nothing to do with him and I ignored the comments from fans.
"Abbi that guy over there has been staring at you for 20 minutes,"Addi told me as she flipped to the next page in her magazine. Addi came with me on our trip so I would have come company, but also because she is single and was looking for a hook up.
I casually glanced over my shoulder to see who was looking at me. The guy had short brown hair that fell onto his forehead but not in his eyes. He was in blue swim trunks and his chiseled chest and abs were on full display. I nearly swallowed my tongue when I recognized who it was. Luke freaking Kuechly was eyeing me up. He winked and I could feel my cheeks heat up.
I tuned back around to Addi,"Do you know who that is?"I hissed and Addi laughed.
"Yes, but I wanted to see your reaction when you turned around. It was totally worth it by the way,"Addi told me as she ripped out two pages of her magazine. Addi ripped out all the pages that were about me and Julian and then we burned them when we returned to the beach house we had rented for the 5 days that we were out here.
"Should I go over there?" I asked and I subconsciously started playing with my hair.
"It's to late he's already coming over here,"Addi's chair was positioned so she could see Luke and his group of friends.
"Excuse me? Are you Abbi Belichick?"Luke asked me and my heart dropped as I turned to greet him. He just wanted to know what happened between me and Julian just like everyone else.
"Yes I am and if you are here to ask me about Mr. Edelman then I am going to tell you the same thing I tell everyone else. No comment." I said this not in a loud voice, but definitely a stern one.
"I'm sorry miss, but I wasn't going to ask you about him. That's between you and him and I agree the media should leave you alone. I just wanted to ask you about your work as a trainer. The Panthers are trying to get a fresh view on how to handle different injuries and rehabilitation techniques. The head trainer would die if he knew I talked to you,"I blushed when I realized his intentions were totally innocent.
"I'm so sorry about the assumption. All I have heard about in the past three weeks was about him,"I explained and Luke just nodded his head.
"I understand where you are coming from but I really would like to talk to you about your job? Would you talk it over with me at dinner tonight?"he asked me. A smile graced his face and I could see his dimples. I wasn't over Julian. I loved him without a doubt but a little part of me wanted a distraction.
