Abbi's POV
Pro Bowl Week/Super Bowl Bye Week
6 days until Super Bowl
2 months since miscarriage
"Auntie Abbi missed you munchkin!,"I squealed as I picked up my nephew Kyle from his stroller. I can't believe that it has been 6 months since I have watched Kyle overnight with Julian. I have seen him since I had him overnight.
"Can you believe how big he has gotten?"Kim asked me. I shook my head cuddling him to my chest. Kyle did not stay put for long wanting to be put down. I set him at the doorway of the apartment and let him crawl into Julian and I's living room. Kim walked into the apartment and closed the door behind her.
"No I can't. I want to take him for an overnight soon,"I told my sister as I watched Kyle pull himself up by using the edge of the couch.
"I might have to take you up on that. Jonathan and I need to take a trip out of town. A vacation that doesn't include planning for where we need to buy gummy snacks and goldfish,"Kim plopped down on the couch, closing her eyes.
"Are you okay Kim?"I asked my sister as I watched her rub her temples.
"Yeah I am okay, Kyle is just exhausting. He's teething and John has been working non-stop so we can save up money to put a down payment on a house,"I went and sat down next to her leaning my head on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry you are so stressed out. You need an adult vacation, we should do one during the off season,"we watched Kyle try to stand up and then sit back down.
"That sounds amazing. I definitely need an adult vacation even if it's just a weekend."
"Julian is set to get paid this offseason, so maybe he will even foot the bill,"I laughed as I sat back up leaning over to grab Kyle picking him up which sent him into a fit of giggles.
"I hear my favorite little boy,"I heard Julian call into the apartment. He was coming home from watching tape. He technically had the day off but after the Patriots beating the Ravens in the AFC Championship game the boys were headed to another Super Bowl and Julian was nervous.
Kyle's eyes lit up when Julian walked into his sight and he immediately reached his arms up so Julian would pick him up. Julian accepted Kyle's request and picked him up, lifting Kyle way above his head Kyle laughed with delight. The smile on Julian's face melted my heart.
"Julian you are a natural,"Julian looked over at my sister and shook his head.
"It's only because your sister has had me volunteer at the children's hospital so much. I wouldn't even know how to hold a baby without her,"I started blushing when Julian told Kim this.
"He did pick it up really fast. And the kids love him so the credit isn't all due to me,"Julian rolled his eyes at me brushing off his compliment, but still smiled at me nevertheless.
"Are you ready for the Super Bowl? Kim asked Julian and he brought Kyle down to sit on his hip.
"I don't know if you are ever fully prepared for a Super Bowl, but we are trying our best."Julian told Kim as Kyle whined to be put down. Thank goodness Julian had baby proofed the house again when I was at work yesterday. Kim and John were staying with us and my parents were staying in a hotel with Julian's parents. We had offered paying for the hotel or setting up an air mattress but my mom said that she wants Kim to get to spend time with me since I very rarely see her.
"Well hopefully spending some time with family will get you in the right mindset to win another ring."Julian nodded in agreement. Some players wanted to relax and would be away from people for the week before the Super Bowl. Julian and I decided that the best way to get him ready for being in the right mindset for Super Bowl was to spend time with family, that's how he relieves his stress.
