Week 5 NFL Season
2 months dating
Julian went silent, he dropped my hand which he had a hold of and placed the towel over his face.
"Abbi you're the head trainer, I know I said that you have to be either the girlfriend or the trainer, but if it's broke you have the final say about what the next step is."Uncle Bill said this and he motioned for Sophia to exit the room with him.
Uncle Bill could 100% veto anything I say, but he gave me a lot of the power in how to treat the players. Julian has been healthy this year so I haven't had to be in this position yet, before this year I wasn't the head of the trainers so this is all new territory for me having to make a big decision.
"Where's your head at babe?"I asked as I sat down next to him as I sat down on the table next to his side.
He pulled the towel off from his eyes and I saw they were teary. My heart broke because I had never seen Julian so upset. He was always the strong one even before we started dating and when we were just close friends.
"6-8 weeks Abs. That puts us at week 13 and that's if everything goes well. I've sat out for minor injuries before, but never for this long. I don't know what to feel right now except disappointment,"I nodded and rubbed my hand up and down his bicep in a comforting gesture.
"Jules I know you don't want to hear this but we have to go get it checked out. As a trainer it's my job,"He nodded and didn't say anything.
"Do I get to ride in the ambulance? Because if they turn the sirens on Rob is going to get super jealous,"He joked with a small smile on his face. I rolled my eyes and bent down to kiss him lightly.
"Unless you want the media finding out about this before we released this than no you don't get an ambulance unless you can't walk and then legally I have to get you one,"I said as I started to stand up again.
"I will be fine to limp Abbi,"He smiled at me and tugged my arm so I would lean back down,"Thank you." He mumbled this against my lips and then I smiled into our kiss. As I pulled away I noticed Julian's eyes weren't on my face but instead on my boobs.
I looked to see where he was looking and saw that my shirt had gapped open and he could see my lingerie. He looked up at me,"Is that what I would have been treated to in the hotel room?" I leaned over more to show him more of my boobs and he just rolled his head back against the table and closed his eyes.
"Yes that's what you would have been treated to but someone had to be stupid and go get hurt,"I said as I stepped back from the table.
"Damn that sucks. Although now that I think about it I'm feeling much better,"he sat up and immediately winced. Much better my ass.
"Mhmmm sure. Let's go bubs,"I got close and he stood up leaning a lot of his weight on me. I could tell he was trying to hold back so he didn't crush me, but I didn't want him to hurt himself more.
"Hey that's my word!"Julian pouted as we took another step.
"What are you going do about it?" I asked him and he just gave be a faux glare.
After a couple minutes we were able to make it to the door and open it. Uncle Bill and Sophia were already waiting outside and they expectantly looked up.
"We are going to get an X-ray taken,"I told them and Uncle Bill nodded and pulled his phone out of his pocket. I knew he was trying to figure out where we could take Julian that was low profile and where his injury status wouldn't be leaked to the media.
It hit me like a ton of bricks. Julian was hurt. My boyfriend was hurt and I couldn't be there as his girlfriend because of my job. I was going to have to make some tough decisions tonight that could very well affect our relationship. Hell if I had to be the one to tell him that he was going to be out for two months that could destroy whatever foundation we had built. I could very well end our relationship with whatever results I had to tell him.
