Chapter 28- Moving on

12-3 Day before game

1 month since miscarriage

(Abbi's POV)

"Babe are you going to the walk through today?" Julian called out the back door and I lifted my head looking at him over the edge of my sunglasses. We were in Miami prior to the boys week 17 game versus the Dolphins.

They had already clinched a first round by end the division with the Raiders losing last week. As a treat Julian, Tom, and Danny rented out a beach house for us to stay at when we flew in for this game and a couple days after so we could just relax. Rob was staying with a girl he knew, but he said it wasn't serious.

"I don't think so. I am going to be on the sidelines tomorrow though,"I replied as Julian stepped off of the patio and started walking towards me. Addi was asleep on the lounger beside me and Gisele was getting drinks inside.

"Well I can't wait to see you get back to work tomorrow then,"He placed a kiss on my forehead and I looked up at him smiling. I couldn't ever express how much it means to me to have Julian by my side. The past month has been anything but easy for us.

"I'm just easing back into it. Maybe I will be back full time before the first playoff game,"I said as I glanced over to look at Addi who hadn't moved. I grabbed the neck of his shirt and pulled his face down towards mine. Then I placed a soft kiss on his lips.

When I pulled away he asked,"What was that for?" I smiled and shrugged pushing my sunglasses back up on my nose.

"It was a good luck kiss,"I turned back to my book trying to focus on the words on the page when I felt his breath ghost over my neck. He placed a soft kiss there and goosebumps ran down my arms.

"I might need another one of those later. Did you eat today?"He asked as he stood up. I put down my book to look up at him. After I talked to my Uncle Bill he talked to Julian about watching what I ate. Julian had been on my case ever since about eating. He bugged the crap out of me sometimes but I knew it was out of love.

"Gisele made me lunch. I ate I promise,"He nodded and then I heard Danny shout that it was time to go,"I will see you later."I waved and he jogged back into the house.

"I love you,"He called our after him as he closed the slider door.

"So are you going to explain the fact that you just kissed him?"Addi asked scaring the shit out of me. I threw an empty water bottle at her.

"Jesus you scared me! I thought you were sleeping,"I said placing my hand on my heart.

Addi sat up and readjusted her top,"Duh that was kind of the point. I knew you guys would act differently if I was awake. I needed the good stuff." I rolled my eyes but couldn't help at laugh at my best friend.

The glass slider door opened again and Gisele came out,"Don't start talking gossip until I get there!" I laughed and she carried a tray of drinks towards us.

"You just missed it! Abbi and Julian totally made out while they thought I was asleep!" Addi called out and Gisele almost dropped the tray of drinks. She finally sat down on the other side of me handing out the drinks.

"We didn't make out. It was a little kiss nothing more,"I swatted at her arm and she moved away.

"Abbi I thought you guys were just friends,"Gisele teased. They had been giving me a hard time for two weeks since I let them in again. They came over to the house for dinner which is when I told them about the miscarriage and let them ask questions. There was many tears and a little laughter and when Julian came back at the end of the night they caught onto our looks immediately. They could tell that our relationship was more sensitive now that it was something deeper, but I guess losing a child did that to people.
