Divergent Love

At 8pm we enter the pit in our evening clothes for the party and go to find Zeke and Uriah. It's good that they made up yesterday as well and it's not like we all hate each other anymore, it's like it never happened. That he found out all 3 of us where divergent.

Because we where the trainers we must stand with the Initiates while they choose. They stand with Zeke and Uriah before they choose, walk onto the stage and sit at a table where a lie e of paper lays, Eric will read out what they chose welcome them to Dauntless, we all cheer and then they walk across the stage and stand with us.

The list of jobs they could choose from this year include:

1- Government leader

2- Government leader

3- Assistant leader

4- Control Room

5- Clothes shop

6- Tattoo Parlour

7- Infirmary

8- Fence Guard

9- Fence Guard

10- Fence Guard

This year they are offering two government leader jobs as they are raising the number from 5 leaders to 7. This is now a requirement in all factions, they may have one main leader ours is Eric and then 6 back ups. To help make decisions. There is many assistant leaders who preform jobs like a secretary and journalists. First to pick is Katie, she walks up onto the stage and chooses to work in the tattoo parlour. Eric welcomes her and she walks and joins me and Tobias. I hug her and congratulate her, Tobias shakes her hand. Zach is next and chooses to work in the control room he will be working with Tobias. There is no shock with Sara's choice, she chooses to be a Government leader. When she walks over to us she hugs me, which is a shock and then Tobias. He responds awkwardly tho and looks at me.

"Thank you, both of you." She beams. "Praise The Lord of Dauntless that I am now a leader and I can be with Zeke no matter what!"

We smile, congratulate her and watch as Carla begins to make her way up to the dreaded chair. The rest of the choosings go on so it ends up that everyone chose their jobs, I do begin to loose focus after a while. It's only after when the ceremony is I've that I read the piece of paper stating who chose what. It reads,

1- Katie - Tattoo Parlour

2- Zach - Control Room

3- Sara - government leader.

4- Carla - Clothes Shop

5- Violet - Infirmary

6-Vicki - government leader

7- Annie - Assistant leader

8-Neil - fence guard

9-Noah - fence guard

10- Liam - fence guard

I go and find Noah after finish reading the paper. I loose Tobias in the crowd but I will find him later. I walk up to Noah sitting at the bar by himself.

"Hey" I say

"Hi" he says back.

"I never actually congratulated you yet." I say

"No, but how is being a fence guard any better than being factionless?" He groans.

"I know it has it's flaws but you will be safe in a house not far of where you will work. You will be protecting our city from harm, protecting your faction." I explain.

"I miss Charlotte" he says

"It must be hard" i choke.

"Hard?" He laughs. "I never stopped loving her, we were only broken up for what 6 months after being together for 3 years."

"6 months is a long time Noah." I say.

"Yes, but it was long enough for that phyco Liam to date her, impregnate her, manipulate her and then make her want to comit suicide." He says holding back tears. "The Charlotte I knew was not suicidal. The one I knew just before she died wasn't. Everything just doesn't make sense."

I cannot tell him. It would betray Tobias, Will and my faction. He needs to know though, but I cannot be the one to tell him. I say my goodbyes and find Tobias. We dance the night away and when the clock strikes 3am we head off to bed. Tomorrow life will resume back to normal. Tobias will train Zach in the control room and I will train Carla in my clothes shop. When I've been doing initiation my assistant manager has been running the stall. I have 10 employees in total. 11 now not including me. So 12 of us make up the team now and I have made sure that all of them are working tomorrow. I fall fast asleep in the arms of my lover and when the alarm clock goes of at 8am I wake with a jolt and quickly get ready. Tobias walks me to work. Presses his hands on my belly and whispers in my ear,

"Whether the baby is a boy or a girl I love them no matter what."

He then kisses me on the lips strokes my hair and tells me he will meet me at 6pm and we will go to the government marriage agency where we will book our wedding date.

I walk through the door of my shop and smell the scent of clean new clothes and shining shoes. We don't have a variety of colours as everything is black. Carla is there and I walk straight up to her. Her make up is very good which make me wonder if she would be good in the make over sector of the shop. We have 4 sectors, clothes, shoes, make up/beauty and hair. Dauntless will come to my shop for make overs, hair cuts and clothes advice as well as show fittings etc.

"Carla, your going to join the make up sector alongside Anna and Erica. They will train you to let you know all about what you do in this sector.

Work was a long day but it's soon 6pm and Tobias is waiting outside. We walk hand in hand to the glass building and wait outside Madison's office. Madison is the person who dauntless go to, to say they are getting married and get help with planning their wedding. We go in and sit infront of the desk, Madison sits behind.

"First of all congratulations of your engagement" she smiles. "Second of all how long do you want to wait before you get married?"

I look to Tobias. "Within the month I hope?" I giggle kissing Tobias' soft smooth lips which taste like cool mint and bacon.
