"Thanks for coming. We hope to see you again soon." I called to a customer as they left Chubbie's. I worked there full time fresh out of college. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life so I took the job. My girlfriend's job paid very well and she didn't mind being the main paycheck of the house. She told me it made her feel powerful.

I worked five days a week for 8 hours and then went home to my beautiful girlfriend, when she wasn't away on business. Life was turning out not to be too bad.

After a long day at work I went home. We lived in a cute little house and it was perfect for the two of us. There was even enough room for a kid if we decided to have one but if we did it wouldn't be for a long time.

I jumped into the recliner with a bucket of chicken I brought home from work and turned on the game. Texas rangers vs Toronto blue jays. I was about to doze off when a ping came from my phone.I had received an email from my high school.

A high school reunion sounded like a lot of fun. Of course I would have to see if she would want to go but it seemed like a great chance to see how everyone was doing. I turned on my computer and looked at the time. 5:37. That meant for my girlfriend, who was in Cambridge to give a lecture at Harvard, it was 6:37. We said we would skype at 7:00 her time every night. It was her last day there so I wasn't sure if I should wait to tell her about the reunion or not. I decided that she would get the email anyways so I would just talk to her about it now. At 6:00 I received her call and answered immediately.
