• Chapter 3

The next day at school, we all continued on as normal. But we did get some dirty looks from girls who were probably jealous that we went to the concert last night.

I had carried on my day in a daze. Most likely still coming down from what had happened last night. I had never seen Bindi even talk that much let alone have a go at some famous pop-star.

When back at home Bindi was back to her normal self, when I had even tried to describe what had happened Joseph and Sarah - her own parents - didn't believe me. Eli wasn't home so I couldn't even tell him but the next morning as I bounded down the stairs to grab toast because I was running late, I tried to tell him. This time he had scoffed at the idea of Bindi having a go at Grey. But it didn't mean that Eli couldn't start have a go of his own for wearing a purity ring.

"Just have sex man." He complained as Bindi, Eli and I we got into Eli's red truck. "He'll realise what he's missing."

Bindi sat at the back of Eli's truck looking like she had a large zip across her mouth that stopped her from talking. I had a feeling it was just going to be one of those days.

"Thanks for that but I don't think that's the point, E." I spoke quietly. Eli plugged in his iPod and started to sing along to Kings Of Leon ignoring me.

I wriggled onto my stool in Multi Media, my 4th period before lunch, looking around myself. I had plugged my headphones into my ears and hid them with my kinky dark brown hair so no one would notice I was listening to old Biblical albums I had discreetly downloaded last night. They were nothing really like the bands that I listened to in England but they would have to do. They were more country and the closest I could relate them to were Ray Lamontagne and maybe Robert Pattinson, but he was English. I tried to lip read what the teacher was saying but I didn't really care so nodded occasionally when she started to talk. I saw her look to the door a couple of times which meant that we had a visitor. Wait... I think I saw her say grey. That band was just on my mind way too much lately. Like that would ever happen. I started to daydream about if that did happen how all the girls would screech when he appeared in the doorway and the way my mouth would drop open in a cartoon characteristic kind of way. I giggled silently to myself when I imagined Grey's shocked face turn from cool and collective to shocked and angry when he noticed my face. What would top it all off? For him to be partnered up with me on our next project, yeah, right Eden.

I faintly heard someone give a little scream. Was that me or was that the song? I twisted to face a girl who was being fanned by her friend next to her. Dammit, I didn't hear. I was about to take out my earphone when I heard a song that I really liked about to play so I kept it in. I started to mime the song quietly to myself thinking of the daydream. It was so preposterous that even I couldn't think of a great plot to go with it. I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up through my fringe to see very light eyes.

What.

Like I had imagined my mouth did drop open in a cartoon way but Grey only smiled a little at me. I didn't think he recognised me. Yet. Well... I doubt someone like him would really recognise their fans, I mean, they see thousands every day why would they remember all their faces and how could they remember their faces. I heard Grey cough and shook my head realising what was happening. I removed the bag that was on the stool Grey was going to sit on and he held out his hand for me to take.

"Grey Leonne. Nice to meet you..."

"Eden Lodge."

"You're... English." I nodded quickly, hurting my neck in the process. He laughed slightly flicking his lip ring. "Eden, you can shut your mouth now."

"Huh?" Grey reached out pushing my chin so my lips met again. "Oh... OH! Ha! Sorry."

"What you listening to?" before I could grab the earphone that had snuck out of my ear, Grey pushed it up to his and laughed again. It was more and more sexy every time he did it. I gulped. "Good song. Obviously you would be listening to that one."

"Huh?"

"It's a favourite from your age group."

"Age?"

"Yeah, the younger years."

I had to replay what Grey had just said in my head at least three times before I understood. And even then I didn't understand. "Huh?"

Grey looked at me strangely. "What?"

"God, you're a bit of a douche ain't you?" I blurted.

"Huh?" he looked at me even more strangely.

"I'm like older than you probably, plus, it just happened to be on. I had never even heard of you since yesterday." I heard someone behind me gasp. I had obviously insulted someone behind me.

"How old are you?"

"Eighteen."

"Birthday?"

"December." We hadn't broken eye contact.

"November." He gloated.

"Fuck you." I spat. I liked my birthday. I liked being a December baby.

"I know you'd love too." His eyes were a really light blue with tinges of yellow and deeper blue rims but his eyelashes were really dark. They pierced through me as we continued to stare at each other.

"No thanks, I'd hate to be the one to pop your cherry." I heard another gasp. "God, he's a prick. Can't you see it?" I turned to the cute younger girl behind me.

Grey turned too, she hardly even noticed me and just smiled at Grey, braces and everything. Grey nodded her way then looked back to me.

I rolled my eyes making sure he knew I was putting the earphone back into its place. He pulled it out. I glared at him. He placed a hand on the side of his face and leant against it. His hair was ruffled and looked more bed head than last night. He had stubble that made him look a lot older than eighteen. Grey flicked his lip piercing in and out. I hated myself for even thinking that he looked unconditionally striking. I even saw the teacher looking over to him trying to hide her blush. Now that I looked around the classroom, I could see every single girl looking at him with love and lust dancing in their eyes. I changed the song and turned up so Grey could hear it.

As soon as I saw everyone else get up off their seats I gathered my things and legged it out of the classroom. Only to bang straight into Bindi, her light brown eyes connected to my deep brown ones.

"GREY'S HERE!" We screamed at each other. "I KNOW!"

Bindi's face dropped as I slowly and painfully turned to see Grey walking out of the classroom a thousand girls quickly gathering around him like flies to poop. I grabbed Bindi's shoulders and marched her the other way. I spotted Raine walk exceedingly quickly past me and Eli, coming out of the Gym, towards Grey. The look on Eli's face was more than stunned.
