Chapter Thirty Three
I had opened the door after knocking, I had even texted Jesse to see if he was home, the reply was that Eli was probably inside and should just enter. I wasn't so sure about being in the apartment with Eli there... all alone... just him and I... with me very much broke and glum after what I had just done at the Moretto household but Jesse promised me he'd only be five minutes.
I suddenly realized the situation I had just walked in on.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't mean-" Eli quickly got off the blonde, who tried her hardest to duck her head away but I saw her. "Leanne!"
Eli tried to reason with me but I wasn't listening. I ran towards Leanne in a rage of anger. Eli stopped me putting an arm around my waist. I smacked him hard.
Eli's face snapped to the side. "I deserved that."
"Trust me. I've wanted to do that for years." I smirked, proud of myself.
I looked over to Leanne. "What is wrong with you? What about Jesse?"
"I love Jesse!"
I pointed at Eli. "You made her do this!"
Eli looked away. His beard was longer today. I was beginning to despise all of him. I wanted to cry. I wanted to hit something.
I screamed at the two of them. "How could you!"
Leanne begged me not to tell Jesse. I looked at her in disgust. Eli nudged his head to the door for Leanne to leave before I could connect my hand to her face. She ran out of the apartment.
I pinched the bridge of my nose slowly turning to Eli. "Why? Why would you?"
Eli tensed up suddenly glaring at me. "Why do I need to explain myself to you?"
I held back the urge to scream. I turned away about to leave but I couldn't help myself from exploding at him. I was just so angry!
"I care about Jesse! After all that he's done for you! Take you in, put up with the girls night after night, your attitude, the way you are with him." Eli shrugged walking past me to grab a beer. "I didn't think you could get so low Eli..."
He scoffed at me.
I charged over to him. "What is wrong with you!? I get that Bindi's gone but..."
I looked hard in the eyes of the guy I used to love. That teenage boy with the bad boy smile, cheeky eyes, the boy that could always make me melt had disappeared. It clicked suddenly in my head.
"You're grieving... The girls, the attitude you're still grieving. Just like when..." I didn't bother to finish.
Eli slammed his bottle down making me pop out of my thoughts. "Just like what? Like what Eden? Like when you left?" I hung my head. "When you ripped my heart out leaving me hollow and... empty."
"And you think I wasn't?" I shouted.
"It took me a long time getting over you..." He mumbled. I rolled my eyes. "You were in England! You didn't see the damage." I snorted - it just seemed to fuel his anger. "Bindi hasn't talked to me! She refused to even admit I was her brother out in public. She wouldn't go near your or my rooms."
I turned storming off. "I don't have to listen to this..."
"Yes, you do." Eli raced to stand before me. "You left me."
