• Chapter Fourteen
It had been two weeks since the incident. That was the only way I could look at it, an incident.
Raine didn't come back to school for a week. Leaving me to hold in the fury that I held for her. When Grey came back to school finally, he was back to his normal self. The girls still wanted him, the teachers still wanted him and we still hadn't finished our film yet.
Looking at myself in the mirror in shorts and a navy smart looking top I humphed to myself.
I lifted up my top looking at my bare stomach which held a baby.
Well, I challenged myself, really it's a tiny foetus.
"Dinners ready." Eli opened the door startling me.
I nodded. I realised he could see my stomach. I patted myself down. Eli had already walked off.
"I am! And you know I am!"
Eli came back into show; he obviously knew what I was talking about. "Get rid of it."
"How? With what money? You going to pay for it?"
Eli stiffened. "It's not mine."
"Give over! It can't be anyone else's but yours!"
"How do I know tha-"
"What you think that all that time I've been sleeping with someone else too? Like you and Raine?"
We hadn't noticed Sarah come into view behind Eli. "Raine? Is she coming?"
We said different answers at the same time. "No." "Yes."
"I'm confused, Eli, is she coming?"
"Yes, I just invited her." He hadn't taken his eyes off me once.
Sarah gave a big smile. "Best girl you've ever bought home darling, except for this one of course." Meaning me. She probably meant from school or something, even I was confused by it. My head was blowing up with different thoughts.
"Everything alright, Eden?"
"Um, actually, I wanted to tell you..."
"Raine's here!" Joseph shouted from downstairs. I growled a little inside.
"Tell us at dinner Eden, will you?"
"Yeah, why not."
Sarah left us. I went to follow her but Eli held me back. He locked the door; I felt a wave of déjà-vu.
"Please..." He spoke softly not meeting my eyes. "Don't tell them yet."
I looked up to see his grey eyes swirling, he was staring into space.
"Fine." I choked out. "Not yet."
We met eyes. He gave me a grateful smile and gently kissed my head. He unlocked the door and went downstairs.
Well... I thought, as I saw Raine smiling with Joseph and Sarah; at least Eli admitted it was his kid. He did, didn't he?
She had a nerve showing up to my house. Eli's girlfriend or not, it was a bad move. This time she positioned herself next to Eli so it was the parents at the head of the table, Bindi and I on one side, Eli and Raine on the other. She was all smiles, all happiness, all trying to give pleasure to Eli under the table. I could tell because Eli had a naughty little smile on his face. Even Bindi was scolding at her when Raine boasted about her latest-holiday-that-turned-into-a-modelling-shoot.
My feud with Bindi was officially over when - conveniently - she wanted help on different twists for her story on Wattpad. We had spent an entire evening thinking of funny phrases, snarky remarks and clever plot twists.
Joseph and Sarah left the room to fetch dessert.
"You have a nerve coming here." I spat.
Her glossy beach blonde hair whipped round, those baby blue eyes looking innocent. "Sorry?"
"You heard her." Bindi spat. "After what you did..."
"Girls?"
"Shut up Eli." We spoke together.
"Leave."
"Now." Bindi finished for me.
"No." Raine smiled wickedly. "I'm staying." She turned to Eli, playing with his t-shirt. "Hey, think we can take the whipped cream and carry this upstairs?"
"You're disgusting!" Bindi nearly shouted.
"Don't I know it..." I frowned.
"What now?" She spoke sounding bored.
"What is goi-"
"Shut up Eli." We all chorused.
"I don't want to tell your boyfriend here what happened. I'm going to leave that between us-"
"Shut your trap virgin." I gave a little laugh at Raine. She was getting cocky. "You and your lesbian lover here are just jealous of what Eli and I have."
"WHAT?"
"Shut up Eli!" We all shouted again.
"Go find somebody else to fuck about with will you? Actually no, because we all know you can't."
"Well... Eli weren't complaining."
Oops.
Bindi laughed nudging me in the arm. "Yeah and I've been shagging Grey Leonne!"
I was staring at Eli. He was staring at Raine. Raine was staring at me.
"Eli..?" Raine barely whispered.
I thought quickly on my feet. "Raine, when Sarah and Joseph come back you're going to make an excuse and leave."
"Or what? No-one will believe you."
It was true. No one would believe me. It was a ridiculous story. Not even I wouldn't have believed it.
"They don't have to, you just told everyone."
"Raine, what did you do?" Eli asked warily.
She turned quickly round to him. "Nothing! God, she's making up stories! Did you hear what she said? She wants to have you!"
I've had him, I thought.
Then Sarah & Joseph came back into the room with pie or like, cobbler.
