• Chapter fifteen
"Go spread your legs somewhere else, virgin."
"I did, your boyfriends bed."
Game.
"Yeah right". She went to walk away.
"Birthmark the size of a creme egg, lower pelvic."
Slowly she turned to me, I raised my eyebrow at her.
Set.
"He's always has his top off around the house..."
I whispered loudly. "We both know you have to be pretty close to see it."
Raine's face had changed dramatically.
Match.
I walked away. I heard Eli's name screeching through the halls.
I met Braces outside the classroom to Media. She gave me a full braces grin.
"Alright happy?"
"You're pregnant."
I dropped my algebra books on the floor causing a scene.
I tried to change the topic. "Braces! You're talking... However, you are talking nonsense. "
Braces shook her head still grinning. "My mom's a mid-wife, I'm taking courses now. I know the look."
I picked up my books. I looked up at her. "The look?"
"Girl, your skin looks great, hair is soft, baggy clothes and much bigger chest."
"Braces, Braces, Braces, it's just these American products I've been using. Got rid of my old stuff that's all. Shall we go in?"
Braces just kept the grin plastered on her face. "Eden Lodge... Welcome to parenthood."
My face dropped. She heard me in the toilets. "Sounds like a programme, doesn't it?"
She walked into class, I grabbed her arm and pulled her back. I tried to find the words...
"Eden, as long as it's not Grey's that's fine with me. I'll keep your secret." She didn't let me thank her instead she turned on her heels and went into class.
*
"Jesse!"
I watched from down the corridor as a sexy tanned Jesse hugged Eli. They walked past me as if I didn't exist talking about Jesse's holiday and no doubt, his latest girl conquests.
Bindi was hiding in the shade when I went to find her at lunch. It was hot but a little bit cloudy so I couldn't quite figure out why Bindi was in the shade. I wriggled about trying to get comfortable on the grass.
I wrapped my grey boyfriend cardigan around my body looking at my surroundings. I spotted Jesse running for an American football and catching it, his black top lifting up so I caught a glimpse at a very toned stomach.
Yum, I smirked.
"What you laughing at?"
"Oh, nothing."
"Checking out Jesse?"
"Yeah," I giggled. "How did you know?"
"Well, you wouldn't check out Eli would you?"
I choked on my Mountain Dew, spluttering it everywhere. "No, course I wouldn't."
"Yeah, because that could be a little weird."
"Little? It'd be really weird." I tried to reassure Bindi that I didn't like Eli. A lie, obviously.
I looked from Eli to Jesse. Both inhumanly sexy. To even suggest that one was better looking than the other was unthinkable.
"Bindi..."
"Mmm mmm." She spoke through her tuna ciabatta.
"Pheobe, she was your lover wasn't she?" I was still staring at Eli and Jesse.
"Umm..."
"It's just... I'm sorry we don't have to talk about it."
It was quiet for a while. We both needed to just think.
Grey collapsed next to us breathing heavily.
I didn't ask questions. Probably because the answer, the lower grade girls, were snapping pictures at us.
I rolled my eyes at them. They saw the guy literally every school day and they still took hundreds of pictures of him. You would have thought the girls would have gotten bored... but even I knew that was quite a silly question.
It was an odd feeling. Having my best friend hating this huge pop star because they both loved the same girl, who happened to be my best friend's deceased best friend, which was confusing. Then, add to the fact that I was pregnant with my best friend's brother, who I lived with, and was just checking out his best friend.
It was getting a little too much.
