Me and Colby decided to go to a nice restaurant for dinner. It had been so long since we spent some alone time together. Colby had a nice black dress shirt on with some trousers and black dress shoes. I wore this.

I finished putting my earrings on and waited for Colby to come out of the bathroom. He wanted to fix his hair. Men and their hair. It's always their number one priority.
" Love, are you ready yet? " I asked.
" Yeah, I'm coming. " he said.
He came out of the bathroom looking very handsome.
" Whoa. " we both said.
" I may need to hide you from all the girls. " I said.
" Yeah, well, I could say the same thing. I don't need any other men checking you out. " Colby said.
" Come on. " I said, taking his hand and leaving the room.
We made it to the restaurant and walked inside to be seated.
" Name sir? " the woman said.
" Colby Lopez. " Colby said.
" Ah, yes, right this way. " she said smiling.
We were taken to our table and we both sat down. We both ordered our food and talked while we waited for it to come.
" So, do you know when you might cash in your briefcase? " I asked.
" I don't know yet. What about you? " he asked.
" I wanna cash in at the perfect moment. I don't wanna waste it. " I said.
" Yeah, me either. " Colby said.
We talked a little more until our food arrived. I noticed an older couple looking at us. They smiled as they approached us.
" Hi. " the woman said.
" Hi, is everything ok? " I asked.
" Yeah, sorry if we seemed a little weird looking at you. " the man said. " You just remind us of when we were young. "
Me and Colby both smiled.
" I remember when we were young and so carefree. " the woman said. " Marriage and three kids later, and we still get a date night from time to time. "
" Well, you guys do look like an adorable couple. " I said.
" Yeah, I'm surprised you still get time for each other. Marriage and kids are a lot of work. " Colby said.
" True, but if you really love each other, you can make all the time in the world for each other. " the man said.
" Well, we'll let you get back to eating. It was nice meeting you. " the woman said.
" You too. " me and Colby said.
The couple left and I sat wondering what it would be like raising a family with Colby. I would love to get married to him and carry his child. But, is Colby ready for marriage?
" What you thinking about babe? " Colby asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
Mine and Mackenzie's one year anniversary is coming up in a month or two and I want to do something special for her. I was thinking about proposing but I don't know if she's ready. I feel like she's the one though. The woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with.
We went back to the hotel after a lovely dinner and changed our clothes. Mackenzie was pretty tired so she fell asleep. I climbed into bed next to her and decided to text Joe and Jon on the group chat.

I smiled as I put my phone down. I looked at Mackenzie, who was asleep next to me. I wondered what it would be like if Mackenzie ever did become my wife. I sighed as I lay down, holding her hand and intertwining our fingers before falling asleep.
