Meeting my Dad

2 days later......

Mackenzie's POV:

I felt my hands sweat and my heart pounding. I was just a few minutes away from meeting my dad. I heard he was very excited to see me. I'm quite excited but I'm nervous too. We're still at my house. My dad agreed to meet us here. Mom and my brothers were out. Colby asked if I wanted him to be with me and I said that I'd like him next to me. 

I could tell Colby was very nervous too. He is about to meet the father of the girl he's dating. I felt him constantly squeezing my hand. 

" You alright Colbs? " I asked. 

" I'm nervous. He didn't even know that we were dating until you were attacked that day. What if he doesn't approve? " he asked. 

" He will approve. And even if he doesn't, I still approve because I love you. " I said. 

" OK, but I'm blaming you if I get Scorpion Death Dropped. " he said, chuckling. 

" Alright. " I said, laughing, kissing his cheek.

5 minutes later......

The doorbell rang and me and Colby both jumped. I looked at Colby, nervous. 

" You got this. " he said, rubbing my back. 

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before getting up and answering the door. There stood my dad. 

" Mackenzie. " he said, tears in his eyes. 

" Daddy. " I said, tears filling my eyes. 

We both pulled each other into a hug. I couldn't believe I was with my dad. It felt like a dream. 

We pulled away and we both walked into the living room. Colby saw us and stood up and shook my dad's hand. 

" It's a pleasure to meet you sir. " he said. 

I could tell he was freaking out on the inside. 

" Oh please, we're practically family. Please, call me Steve. " he said, sitting down. 

" You mean..... " I said.

" Yes, I do know you are both dating. And I approve. That day when I came to help the Shield, I saw how devastated he was when you were being put onto the stretcher. He didn't leave your side out by the ring or backstage. " my dad explained. " I can tell how much you're both in love. And quite frankly, you are my favorite member of the Shield. I don't think I would have been as happy as I am for you two than if she was with another Shield member. " 

I looked at Colby who looked shocked. He looked at me. 

" I'm gonna get a drink, be right back. " my dad said, heading to the kitchen. 

" I'm his favorite member. The legendary Sting likes me. " Colby said, smiling widely. 

" Are you fangirling? " I asked, chuckling. 

" Maybe. " Colby said, looking down, smiling. " But I'm glad he approves. " 

" Me too. " I said. 

" I love you Mackenzie. " he said. 

" I love you too Colby. " I said, giving him a peck. 

" I'm gonna go upstairs. I'll let you and your dad spend some time together. " Colby said. 

" OK, you gonna be alright upstairs? " I asked. " I don't want you getting bored or something. " 

" No, I'll be fine. I haven't talked to Joe and Jon for a while so I'll just call them. " he said. 

" Alright Love. " I said, giving him a kiss before he went upstairs.

A few minutes later, my dad came back. 

" Hey, where's Colby? " he asked. 

" He went upstairs. He said we should spend some father-daughter time together. " I explained.

" He's a good guy. " he said. 

" He sure is. " I said. " Well, Mom told me what happened between you two and I wanted to hear your side of the story. " 

My dad explained what happened and it was the same as what Mom said. 

" I'm sorry I left Mackenzie. I love my family but I loved my job too. I still do. " he said.  

" No, I understand. I love wrestling too. It's my life now. If I didn't have wrestling in my life, I would have never had met Colby. I wouldn't have ever met you. " I said. 

" At least we will be able to see each other at work. " Dad said. 

" Yeah. " I said. " Do you think we should tell people? "

" Of course we should. You are my daughter and there is no reason to hide it. " Dad said. 

I pulled my phone out and posted a tweet.
