She Just Doesn't Get It

The Next Morning.....

Mackenzie's POV:

I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face. Everything that happened yesterday wouldn't leave my mind. The way Colby proposed was just perfect, more than perfect if that's possible. The fireworks were beautiful, the ring was beautiful, everything was beautiful. I picked up my engagement ring from the bedside table next to me. I hated taking if off last night before I went to sleep but I didn't want to accidentally ruin it. It looked very expensive. I still couldn't believe I was engaged to Colby. More than a year ago, the thought wouldn't have ever crossed my mind.

When we got back to the hotel yesterday, I gave Colby my present to him which he said he really loved. He said he knew the perfect photo to put in the middle of the collage but apparently, it doesn't exist yet. He said I'd find out soon enough. I put my ring on my finger and just admired it. I felt like I was living in a dream and I didn't want to wake up. I looked next to me and saw Colby sound asleep. He had a small smile on his face as he nuzzled into me. He was just the cutest guy ever. I was so lucky to call him my man.

I kissed his cheek before getting out of bed, making sure Colby was still tucked in. I went into the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. Once I came out of the bathroom, I saw Colby start to wake up.

"Morning Love." I said.

"Morning. What time is it??" he asked as he rubbed his eyes.

"It's late, now get up." I said as I pulled his arm to get him out of bed. 

"I don't wanna." he whined.

"Come on Colby. Are you being a little baby??" I said with a smile.

"No, I wanna spend some time with my fiance." he said, making me blush slightly.

He pulled me onto the bed with him, kissing my cheek.

"You are such a fuss pot." I said.

"I know. It's what you love about me." he said.

"Do I??" 

"Yes you do."

"No I don't."

"Stop lying woman. You love it."

"Maybe I do." he said before pecking my lips.

"So, do you want people to know??" I asked as I pointed to my ring.

"Are you kidding me?? You're going to be my wife. I want the whole world to know. If I could go up into space and scream it there, I would." he said, making me laugh.

"Come on now, get up. We're meeting Joe and Jon for breakfast, remember??"

"No, let's just ditch them." he said, wrapping his arms around me.

"Colby Daniel Lopez. We are not going to leave our friends hanging. That's rude." I scolded.

"Yikes, you used my full name. I'm still not getting up though." he said, wrapping his arms tighter around me.

"Fine, looks like someone doesn't want to marry me." I said, knowing that would make him budge.

"I'm up, I'm up." he said as he quickly got out of bed.

"Good, now hurry up. We're gonna be late." I said as I pecked his lips and he went into the bathroom.

I sighed as I sat in catering. I was drinking a smoothie. I didn't wear my ring. I wanted it to be a surprise when I revealed it.
