Consoling Jon

Mackenzie's POV:

After the workout session, Jon disappeared for a bit and Colby, Joe and I went to get some water.

" Mackenzie, you're good at wrestling. You would make an awesome diva. " said Joe.

" Really?? " I asked.

" Yeah, you did really well. " said Colby.

" That really means a lot. " I said.

" If it was coming from Colby then it must have, if you know what I mean. " said Joe, elbowing me. " I mean you did look like you were having fun after you tripped over. "

" Dude. " said Colby, slightly blushing.

" I thought only Jon would come up with stuff like that. " I said.

" Where is he by the way? " asked Colby.

" I don't know. He told me that he had some very important work to do.  When I asked him what it was, he snapped at me. " said Joe.

" I'll go look for him. " I said.

" Ok. " said the boys.

I was walking down the corridors by the gym but I couldn't find Jon anywhere so I went to look outside. I was walking past an alley when I heard quiet sobbing. The alley was quite dark so I couldn't see a thing. I walked slowly down the alley to see where the sobbing was coming from. 

As I got closer, I saw a dark figure on the ground. I kept walking when I noticed the dark figure was Jon. Why was Jon crying?? I ran up to him and pulled him into a hug.

" Jon why are you crying? What happened? You were perfectly fine in the gym. " I said, concerned.

" W.....what, nothing, I......I'm fine. Please l......leave. " he said.

" No Jon, not until you tell me what's going on. I thought we were gonna be besties and besties share everything with each other. " I said.

Then he broke down in my arms.

" I've been a mess. " he said, still sobbing. " Ever since Renee broke up with me, I've been a mess. I'm always angry and I snap at everyone. Before I dated Renee, I was like I am now, and when she came into my life, she changed me. I became a better person and people were really shocked when I was actually being nice to people and not snapping or insulting people. It was my first serious relationship and I was really happy with her until one day, she broke up with me. She said that it just wasn't working. It broke me inside and since then, I was back to my old self. I don't really know why I'm telling you this. I guess I feel like you are the only girl I can trust. When we met yesterday, I thought you might be some scared little girl and I thought I could insult you but I saw you with that big smile on your face and you looked really excited and when you hugged me, I felt like I could trust you with anything. "

" I'm so sorry that happened to you Jon. I know how hard it is when someone breaks up with you, trust me, I've experienced the pain, but maybe it's a sign. " I said.

" What do you mean? " he asked.

" I mean, maybe Renee wasn't the right girl for you. Maybe the universe is trying to tell you that somewhere out there is a beautiful girl waiting for you and someone who will accept you for you. " I said.

" You really think so? " he asked.

" I know so. " I said.

" Thanks Mac. I know we've only known each other for two days but I feel like we are really close like best friends. Just promise me that you won't tell Joe or Colby. " he said.

" I promise. And remember, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. Now wipe your tears and put a smile on your face. I'm sure Joe and Colby are starting to get worried on where we are. " I said, pulling him up.

" I'm sure Colby is worrying where you are. " said Jon, slightly smiling.

" Hey. " I said, blushing.

" I know Colby very well. When we get back, he will run up to you, give you a hug and say the exact words, ' Mackenzie, I was....I mean WE were really worried about you. You took so long.' " he said.

" That's the Jon I know. He will really say that?? " I asked.

" Positive. " he said.

" Come on let's go bestie. " I said, taking his hand.

We made it back to the gym, Jon looking as cheerful as ever. Jon is now my best friend and it hurts me to see him so upset. I saw Joe and Colby starting to look worried. As we walked closer I heard Colby say, " Maybe we should call one them. " 

Then Colby turned around and saw me. He ran up to me and pulled me into a hug. Then he said, " Mackenzie, I was...I mean WE were really worried about you. You took so long. " I looked at Jon and we both started laughing.

" W.......why are you laughing? " he asked.

" What happened? " asked Joe.

" Well Jon told me that when we would get back, you would run up to me and give me hug and then say the exact words you said now. " I explained.

" You mean I said every word in the correct order as Jon predicted. " he asked.

" Yep. " said me and Jon together.

" That's creepy. " said Joe.

" I know. "said Colby. " Are you psychic or something? " he asked.

" No, I just know you very well. I knew you would run up to Mac first. " he said.

" Whatever. " he said, looking down, blushing.

" Where were you anyway? " asked Joe.

Me and Jon both froze. We didn't think of an excuse. Crap.

" Um.....well.....you see..."

" I was just outside getting some fresh air when Mac found me and we talked then we both came inside. " said Jon.

" Yeah. " I said.

" Ok because I was a little bit worried about you when you snapped then walked out. " said Joe.

" Yeah sorry about that. " said Jon. " I just felt a bit suffocated inside. "

" Come on we better get going. " I said,  smiling at the thought that Colby ran to me first.
