I'm putting this chapter cuz it's not fair to put an interruption, and not add a chapter. (That would be so misleading!)My illusions disappear in a quick flash. I soon discover that while my flashbacks were occurring, my hand was gripping a broken porcelain China plate I must've broken.
Jacob rushes over to me, a ripped cloth in his hand to bandage the wounds, but just as he wrap them they are already healing. So all that left is for him to wipe the blood.
I flush, noticing everyone's eyes are on me.
"I-I'm sorry." I croak. "I'll clean it up."
+. +. +.
As everyone sits down for breakfast, I help Nudge pour the orange juice. Angel places three strawberries on everyone's plate, and Iggy places the eggs and toast on everyone's. Jacob comes behind us with bacon.
"Hey, Jacob, no bacon on my plate, please. I'm going vegetarian." Nudge informs him, finally sitting down after pouring orange juice into her own glass.
"Yeah right." Gazzy rolls his eyes. "The last time you said that, you were eating beef three days later."
Nudge glares. "Yeah, well, we were all starving at that time, and it was the only thing left! Plus, you weren't even there. I was with Max and Fang when were trying to get Angel back!" she sniffs her nose in the air haughtily.
Still, Jacob skips her plate.
"Speaking of Fang, where is he?" Max frowns, stuffing a heap of eggs into her mouth.
"Said he wasn't feeling well." Jacob says a little too quickly.
"Does he have a headache or something?" Max suddenly stands up as if she can sense something.
"I don't know." Jacob follows behind her, a knife behind his back.
Something bad is going to happen. I can already sense it.
Standing up, if follow in the room behind them, finding a still, lifeless body sprawled in Fang's bed.
My breath catches. Blood trickles down his eyes like tears, and it seems as if he were strangled.
"What the hell?" Max screams, shaking Fang. "Wakeup, idiot! Wake up!"
Before he can sense me, I'm up behind Jacob, whispering in his ear. "What's the kitchen knife for? You did this?"
I hope he says no. Please say no.
He takes a step back in disbelief. "No. I wouldn't dare!"
"Then what's the knife for?" I say between clenched teeth, nearing him again.
Everyone's in the room now, gathering around Fang.
"The knife is because-" Jacob begins.
"There is someone else in the room." I finish, my illusion aiming for the closet, ripping it open to find a tall blonde figure in the shadows.
My shadows pick him up the neck. "Who are you?" I demand.
The boy strains, gasping for breath.
"Dylan?" Max asks through tears, holding Fang's head to her chest.
I drop him to the floor.
He grunts from the impact, coughing.
"I didn't kill him." Cough. Cough. "I just came to warn you that Ari is coming. And an army of Erasers this time." Dylan confesses.
