Okay... You guys are going to HATE me for this because... well, you'll find out.😖😂
"Poor girl, look at her face, Jeb." The doctor brought the scalpel carefully along my face, noting the wrinkles and blood dripping from my skin. She doesn't know that I'm not asleep. No one ever knows. Thanks to them. Thanks to the School. That's one of my many mutant powers.- Manipulation. Just as they manipulated me, I can manipulate them.
"Yeah, I know. My daughter will be so happy that she has another roommate, Johanna." Jeb says, running his tan hands through his brown hair, a malicious smile on his face.
Alright. I have had enough of this.
"Hello, Johanna. Hello, Jeb." I sneer at them.
With shocking horror, Johanna stumbles back, the scalpel still in her hand.
"Jesse." Jeb says, no expression on his face. "This is not you. Leave the girl's body, now!"
I chuckle, forcing the corpse to sit up, taking the scalpel from Johanna. She flinches, and I just bring it against her...
"Jesse, you can't do this! What about Max... and Ari?" Jeb protests again.
"It's not about them. You never worried about me." I say.
The lights go dark, I begin my mission.
That day, I never thought getting out of the School would bring me to Jacob. That would just cause me even more pain.
It seems no matter where I go, or no matter who I learn to trust they all betray me in the end.
I know I can't go around killing people when they cross me like I did to Johanna.
That's one thing I learned from Jacob. That there are good people out in this world... yet why is Fang so hung up on convincing me that it was Jacob who killed him?
Why, after all of these years, does Fang pay attention to me now? Why when I finally found someone I could have all to myself, and he took that away.
Tears mix with wind sting my eyes as I fly off into oblivion. Somewhere that gets me far away from him.
No matter how fast I fly, he's right behind me, trying to chase me down.
Irritation gets the better of me, and I swoop down over an intersection of trees in the forest, hoping that will keep him from catching up to me.
It is all in vain.
"Don't you know the meaning of going away, Fang?" I yell, my fists clenched.
He brings my hands to his against my will. "Don't leave. Max wants you to stay. I want you to say. We all want you to say." His voice is deep and calm, but I can't help the fact his lips are way too close to mine.
"Oh, please, Fang. You know I don't want to be anywhere near them, and Max and the others feel the same way." I spit. "Why can't you realize that? And, why are you even talking to me, let alone so much? Why happened to the deep, dark, and mysterious brood you are? All these years I have been begging you to pay attention to me! You were too busy making friends with Max. For just once, just once... I wanted you to look at me the way you look at her."
He looks taken aback, giving me space for once.
"Yes, I was envious, Fang. And the fact that none of you remembered that I was there on the day you guys escaped, and none of you even bothered to come back and take me with you. All my life, I've been tortured with no one to truly look at them in trust. Now you've taken that away from me. So look, Fang, I don't need your fucking sympathy. I meant everything I said about staying away from me. You murdered Jacob. You are my enemy!"
