(*Luke's POV*)

I was so fucking nervous when I began to play my song for her. I didn't dare to look up at her as I was playing because I knew that if I did, I'd mess up and embarrass myself. I remembered all the time I spent with Julie to distract myself from messing up the cords. It worked because by the end of the song I felt pretty good. I looked up expecting to see a look of disgust on Julie as she told me that it wasn't any good but instead, I saw tears coming out of her eyes. Hopefully those were tears of happiness, but either way I don't like seeing her cry. I asked her not to cry and she wiped her tears before she smiled at me. Time flew by as we just sat and talked about her, me, us.

I stood up and held out my hand for her to grab. When she did, I walked her over to the edge of the stage. We stood there looking out to the lake. The silence that fell between us wasn't awkward at all it was quite comforting actually. After minutes of silence, I began to hear soft muffled cries from beside me. I turned to look at Julie, she was covering her mouth with one hand and she was looking down at the floor. I brought my hand up to her chin and made her look at me. She looked devastated; with tear-stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes. I couldn't help but feel guilt as I knew that I was the cause for all that pain she was feeling. I placed one hand on her waist and my another one was still placed on her chin.

"Julie, look at me," She shook her head. "I don't like seeing you like this. I know that I'm the one that is causing you so much pain but this is why I brought you here, to make it up to you for not being here on your very special day. I'm here to create memories with you, ones that will last forever. I want to give it a try, our relationship: keep it going. Yeah, it might not be the same but Julie I know you, and I know that if you want something you can get it and if you want this relationship as much as I do, you-we can make this work. Like I said before I'm not giving up on you."

I looked into her eyes and noticed a change in emotions. A change that made her realize what I meant. She looked up at me and nodded. I smiled before I gave her a kiss on the lips. I knew that this was going to work, it had to.

*Julie's POV*

"Well enough with the crying," He smiled. "It's your day and I don't want my beautiful lady to cry and be sad."

"I can't help it." I giggled through the remaining tears. and yes I giggled.

"I've never heard you giggle like that," He called me out. "It's cute."

"Oh" I smiled looking at my fingernails as I rested my head on his shoulder. We both sat down at the edge of the stage and looked out onto the lake. "Thanks"

Everything he told me made me realize that he was right. If I want something, I have to keep fighting to get it and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

"Julie," He smiled as he dove his hand into his pocket and retrieved a small velvet box. "I got you something."

He opened the box to reveal a necklace with a locket. I opened the heart shaped locket as I took the necklace in my own hands. On one side was a small picture of me and Luke when we took a picture in a small photo booth the day he got me Mr. Cuddles; On the other side engraved on it were our names in cursive.

"It's beautiful!" I gasped looking at him. He took the box out of my hands and took the necklace out of the box. I turned to look away from him as he helped me put it on. The metal was cold against my skin and goosebumps arose. I turned to give him a hug and I gave him a peck on the lips.

"Alrighty." He stood up and I looked up at him. I have no clue what's going on. He noticed that I didn't understand and smiled at me. "Did you think it was going to end here? C'mon we have somewhere to be."
