Chapter 8-The Calling of Darkness

Andrews pov

Crap I'm late, the others are going be sour at me.

I woke up and found out the power went out last night while I slept so my alarm reset it self and didn't wake me up so now I'm running as fast as I can to the school so I can get to the raid but when try to open the door it doesn't move "Locked, but the door is never looked." The building is made to resist fire so I can't melt the windows or the doors. "Come on Andrew think, think." I look a round and remember the vent access "flame boost"

When I finally get to the meeting in the labyrinth I fall over on the ground gasping for air, Jenn sees me and helps me up and I see Jackal, Tim, and Amy, I also see two new faces, a blond guy and a girl almost as tall as Tim which was no small feat. Jenn introduces me to them "Andrew, this is Chris and Linda, Chris is a light mage and Linda is a wind mage." Chris is the first to speak "so your the one who been causing trouble" "you could say that"I laugh. Linda bends down and looks in my eyes for a good five minutes to my discomfort then laughs "He has a strong heart" Chris smiles and says "good." I look at at Jenn to see what she thinks about this and she just smiles and shrugs her shoulders "it's best not to ask" Chris then walks up to me and says "I want to see how good you really are, let's see if you last 10 seconds against me."

Everyone looks at him in horror and Jenn is the first to speak up "Chris you can't do that to him, he only started a couple weeks ago" "yes and he has already beat you, Jackel, and Tim" he remarks. Everyone even Jackel looks at me with a sad look then backs away "alrighty then, let's get started" he lunges at me with incredible speed and I only have time to mutter "neo fire" and like that everything slows down as my eyes turn green and Chris slows to a normal speed he looks at me in amazement as I dodge every attempt to hit me with spells of his own. Just to annoy him I pretend to yawn, he looks at me with amusement. Now it's my turn to attack, I slam my palm into his chest and leave my unnoticed magic circle and he looks at me with confusion "is that all your going to d-" and he is blasted back "fire grapple " I say under my breath as I pull him back through the air and deliver a flaming fist to his jaw. He flies back and lays there for a moment then sits up and looks at me unfazed from my attack "damn you like to end things fast don't you" and with that he gets up and shakes my hand. I look at Jenn who's mouth is open with amazement, I walk to her and whisper "you'll catch flies that way" she looks at me with a red face. I turn around and see Tim hand Amy some money. "alright then we are going to need all hands on deck for this" Chris says to everyone "we are heading to the next floor down so any one with the ability to make light to be on the outside" he looks at me "Andrew I need you to be in the back and keep an eye on the group and make sure we are not ambushed" " alright" " now lets get going" 

So we walk through the labyrinth for a little while until we come to a large stair case and at the bottom it is pitch black and there are no lanterns on the walls to light. Chris walks over to me "you haven't been down here yet have you?" "no" "well the darkness is a lot stronger on this floor so it tries to snuff out all light so your going to need a strong will to resist it. It messes with your mind, that's how we lost are last fire mage." "what happened to her?" "the darkness took her deeper and that's all we know, so be careful." With that in mind I look at the bottom and see something but I can't tell what it is so I look closer and a dark wave comes at me and goes through my chest and lands behind me. I fall to my knees and everyone looks at whats behind me in terror, I stumble back to my feet and look and I see ME, but my eyes are red like blood and my skin was pail as snow and my clothes were all black. He looked like everything I ever feared and more. I look at everyone around me and they're all frozen with fear, then I look back at him and he says" erif oen" and with blinding speed he runs at me and holds me up in the air by my neck" rewop eht rof sknaht " and that breaks Jenn out of her shock and she rams into him and I fall to the ground and it feels like all my power is being sucked out of me. I look at Jenn one last time then everything goes black.
