Chapter 14

There was a knock at the door as me and Luke sat on the bed. Luke hopped up and opened the door as I wrapped my arms. He smiled and looked at me and I peered through seeing it was Josh. I hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek.
"I've missed you" I smiled
"I've missed you too" he held my hands, I figured someone told him about my bruising, but nobody had.
"Did someone hurt my little angel?" He questioned after he motioned for me to unwrap my wrists. Luke helped me and I walked over to my brother as he picked them up gently and made a heart on one and an infinity sign on the other.
"I love you forever" I smiled and he smiled back
"Yes!" It was our secret code language.
"I wish I could stay-" he smiled as I cut him off
"But you must get back to the base" I kissed his cheek and he hugged me back and then he left.

It was just me and Luke now, and I didn't have to ask anymore he just automatically helped me wrap the bruises. I smiled and kissed him as I changed into a dress and put on high heels. I allowed my hair to flow wildly and he changed into a nice outfit. We walked to the lounge again and sat with Aaron, Matt, Tyler, and some new kid named Drake. He reminded me of Jake. Just kind and quiet. Like unusually I started the conversation.
"I still don't get it.." Luke put his arm around me as Aaron spoke
"Get what?"
"He was so nice, and over one night he became a total jerk"
Luke tensed remembering everything that had happened
"Well he's no longer on our team" he said with a smile "he can't hurt you now." He kissed my neck and gave me the shivers, Which made him chuckle. Drake was staring at me, it made me uncomfortable.
"I'm gonna go outside" I stood up and walked outside. I had told Luke to leave me be when I would go outside and so he did. I say down on a bench and looked at the lake water and someone sat next to me. I didn't look but he grabbed my arm and I started struggling to free myself. When I looked up it was Jake.
"Let go of me, please" I said calmly
"Come I want to show you something" he was holding my wrist gently and I followed him. I saw a man have his sights of his gun set on Jedi. I freed my wrist and ran out and stood in front of where the bullet would've hit. I sacrificed myself for him.

I saw Jake pick me up and then it went black I woke up and Jake had taken my phone, he dialed Luke's number.
"Hello!" I heard his voice on the phone
"It's Jake! She's shot Luke shot!!" I took the phone
"Luke" I coughed "call an ambulance to the barn and say we need it-" I blacked out. I woke up when we were in the ambulance Luke was holding my hand and my wrists were still wrapped. I closed my eyes again when I felt Luke squeeze my fingers. I woke up, Jake was in the corner of my room while Luke was sleeping while holding my hand. I didn't want to wake him up and I took a deep breath and felt a sharp pain in my chest. And I squealed a little which woke him up. I held the wound on my chest with my hand and I shut my eyes closed in pain, tears making my eyes glassy. I figured out I didn't wake Luke up but Jake was watching me. I glared at him as I steadied my breathing. I fell asleep again just before Luke woke up, I had a nightmare and I jerked awake squeezing Luke's hand tightly. He kissed it and looked at me.
"What was it?" He looked at me
"You"
I got the chills when I said it.
"Please don't leave me" I swallowed and took a deep breath feeling the wound but it was healing, I could tell.

Just then I blacked out again, when I awoke two hours later, I heard Luke pacing and Jake telling him to take a deep breath and calm down. Neither of them noticed my awaking until the nurse asked what my pain was, I said a 7. She shook her head and left my wrists weren't wrapped and I tucked them under the covers before Luke and Jake looked at me.

Jake left the room, before Luke walked up to me and kissed my forehead.
"You scared me" his eyes looked frightened
"Why?" I questioned him
"Just a few minutes ago you didn't have a heart beat," he kneeled beside me and held my hand.
"I thought I lost you" I reached my hand up and wiped away his tears
"But you didn't I smiled as my vision became a blur and I heard the monitor go off as I smiled and whispered
"Tell it to shut up because I'm still awake" he laughed and kissed my hand.
"I won't leave you any time soon" I closed my eyes and it went off again. I sat up and got mad
"GOD SHUT UP YOU STUPID MONITOR" I brought my hand to my forehead and then laid it down as I heard Luke laugh. I looked at him, my eyes slightly opened,
"I just wanna close my eyes because the lights are causing my mental vision to say, screw you, to my brain." Luke kissed me as the doctor came in and cleared me to go home, Luke signed and I changed into a different outfit as I looked at the patch over my chest/side.

Luke held my hand as we walked down the stairs. When we got back to the academy, Aaron was stressing in our dorm.
"OMG your ok" he gently hugged me and I smiled
"Yeah."
"Luke wouldn't text me one bit" I saw Luke start to laugh and I laid on the bed.
"Do we have any bandages?" I heard Luke ask Aaron
"Yupp" Aaron tossed him some as he had to unbuckle my bra to change the bandages, but I held it in place as he changed it out and re-hooked my strap. He kissed me and I smiled,
"Thanks" I pulled my t-shirt down as I put on my flip flops and offered my hand to him. Which my wrists were back to normal again, which I was happy about. No more bandages. We went outside and started our lovely walk in the park.
