Confusion

Chapter 19

I was tossing and turning, it was nightmare after nightmare, Aaron and Luke were afraid for my health. Luke insisted on taking me to the hospital. "If I must I will go alone with her."

He was holding me again and I wrapped my arms around him,

"I love you" I laid my head on him

He kissed my forehead and held his hand there.

"I'm taking her right now" he got up and set me on his bed as I had stood up and changed into another outfit. I looked absolutely miserable. Aaron looked at me and I sat down on the floor Aaron sat across from me,

"Does it hurt anywhere?"

"Well if I said I feel like every bone in my body was broken, I would be telling the truth."

He looked at Devin as he picked me up.

"Lets go" we all got in the car as Luke drove to the hospital. I was in the back with Aaron while Devin was in the passenger seat. Aaron's fingers ran through my hair. Then he picked me up and carried me in.

"We need a room ASAP!" the nurse rushed us to a room as I was losing consciousness.

Aaron laid me on the bed as the nurses set up the monitors and the liquids. They said I died twice and came back three times. But after they made me think they lost me at, you died twice, Luke laughed and kissed my hand as he usually did when I was in the hospital.

The next day they offered to let me be released but Luke disagreed which pissed me off. I kissed his cheek, even though I was mad at him.

"In going to the cafeteria" Luke said looking at me. I nodded

"Ok"

He left the room Aaron and Devin were just outside my room. I felt as if I was being stabbed in the stomach. I screamed as Aaron and Devin charged into my room. Luke was running up the stairs and he ran in my room and sat on the edge of my bed. He looked at me and out of breath, eyes wide as he asked

"Where?"

"My stomach" I gripped it and rolled on my side as I winced in pain. He rubbed my shoulders. The pain subsided and I sat up remembering the horse show in 3 days.

"Luke.."

"What?" He looked at me worried

"The horse show" he shook his head

"you can't go" it tipped my temper as he just made it worse

"I won't let you."

"You don't control my life" I folded my arms and sat pretzel style

"Please?" He looked at me with puppy eyes.

"I'm going and that's that"

"But-"

"I'm done talking I'm going home tomorrow and that's it" he stormed out of the room as I stared at the floor.

"Ill go talk to-" Devin tried to volunteer but Aaron was already walking out to him. I didn't hear what they were saying only all I knew was Luke was sitting outside while Devin stared at my monitor. I don't know where Aaron was. I stood up and unhooked all the wires causing the monitors to go crazy. Devin looked at me like I was crazy.

"What?" I looked at him as I pressed the power off button on the one making noise. Luke walked in and hugged me

"I'm sorry" he didn't let go and I didn't pull away from the hug,

"I really am" he kissed my forehead

"I know" I smiled

"I just worry about you" I kissed him

"Don't."

Later that day we were discharged. Aaron and I walked home, while Luke and Devin were exhausted so they drove.

"I forgot about the show." Aaron looked at me

"I did too" I smiled at him

It was silent most of the way. We stopped at the barn so we could practice. We were in the tack room and he felt unbearably close. He leaned in, our lips were inches away.

'I can't do this' I thought to myself. 'I just can't'. We did and it felt right he brought his hands up and cupped my cheeks, I smiled and kissed him back. It felt like forever. I knew he liked me, I mean he did kiss better than Luke.

Once we were done kissing we both got tacked up and headed to the jumping ring. I kinda coached him on a few things he needed to change, but other than that it was a perfect ride. Then I jumped doing great as always. He clapped afterward, when I hopped down I untacked and put away Jedi and gave him a treat. Aaron always was with me it seemed. He loved me and I was confused with what was going on.
