I'm Sick

Chapter 8

"What's wrong with you?" they motioned towards me, but Jake spoke before me.

"She's shaken up"

"Did she fall off?" Said the girl with black hair.

"No, a friend did"

"Then why is she shaken up?" Said the girl with brunette hair. Then I spoke for once with my idiotic shaking voice.

"My friend fell off and had a pulse but didn't move" my body shook and Jake stopped making circles and held my hand tightly.

"The ambulance came and took him" Jake spoke so much better than me and my voice, the girls looked shocked but they weren't afraid. I closed my eyes again wanting to sleep but Jake told me not to. I ignored him and fell asleep. I was shaken awake by the riding instructor. I had a headache again, I saw all the guys out in the stable walkway holding their horses and Jake was holding Eclipse and his horse. "Today we will have a lesson on dressage" she spoke softly to me and looked at me. Jake and I were both super pale, you could say we were white. I walked up and took Eclipse mounting her and walking out into the arena beginning to warm up as the others fought over who got to get on first. Jake got up from the ground and trotted over to me. He was talking to me but all I heard was emptiness until he started to say my name everyone called me,

"Ang-"

"Please be quiet" I mumbled and looked around as I rubbed my head. He nodded and saw how pale I was, up close he had color, but I was pale, as white as chalk.

"Are you ok?" He looked at me and I shook my head no. He stopped Banche and Eclipse.

"Then get off, I don't want you hurt"

"I'm fine" I kicked Eclipse into a canter and worked on some of the advanced stuff as I heard the Instructor

"Very Nice Angelica, it looks great!" I smiled an held my head high as if I was showing as I asked her to go across the diagonal while going side ways, so therefor we didn't switch direction. Our lesson went by fast. One second I was doing what I was asked and the next it was time to cool off the horses. Jake rode up next to me and looked at me handing me a bottle if water, I took a sip and out the cap back on. I could tell he was worried, he thought I was dehydrated. Which I was. I got off Eclipse and walked her to her stall, while walking her to her stall I blacked out and fell in the hall way. The instructor came running out and checked my pulse which was actually not there. She called the ambulance and when they arrived Jake went with them to the hospital. He held my hand, I woke up in a hospital bed with the IV in my arm. I opened my eyes and there they all were, Jake, Luke, Caleb, Alex, Tyler and Aaron. They all were there and I smiled and Jake smiled up to me but then the nurse came in and shooed everyone away, but she let Jake stay which made me happy.

"How do you feel?" She looked at me

"Terrible" I said as Jake listened intently, I was still pale and everywhere it hurt.

"Ok" she smiled and left.

Everyone came back in.

"You look terrible." Aaron said looking at me.

I looked back at him and I looked at everyone. I reached for my phone to find tons of texts from my friends back in New Jersey. I set my phone back down and I blacked out again. It must have been like 3 in the morning when I woke up, they were all still there, just sleeping. I smiled and kissed Jakes hand as the nurse came in. I looked like a ghost, I could tell by the look in her eyes I drank some water and fell asleep afterward. It was on and off, is wake up and pass out again. This time when I woke up the only two who were in my room was Josh and Jake, they sat on each side of me, Jake had let go of my hand and now had his hands folded as he prayed but Josh was watching me, I felt terrible still but I had some color back. Josh smiled and kissed me forehead quietly. He had a conversation of reading lips.

"I told mom and dad" he mouthed

"What'd they say?" I mouthed back

"They didn't want to come, they said it was too far"

I nodded and he told me to touch Jakes shoulder, so I did. He stopped whatever he was doing and smiled looking at me. He looked sleep deprived.

"Go get sleep" I said with whatever bit of voice I had left. He shook his head

"I'm afraid something will happen"

"It's ok" I encouraged him "go get sleep" he sighed and agreed, he kissed my cheek and left. Josh looked at me

"How do you feel?"

"Terrible" I coughed and laid my head down more comfortably.

"Do you want me to tell him?" He asked. I shook my head no. I had a rare disease which doctors could cure but the cost was too much.

"I'm getting you that treatment" he kissed my forehead.

"I have enough money, you could live happily then" he smiled

"I had no voice so I took the pencil and paper and wrote on it "but, tell Jake. Please?" I handed it to him and he nodded. Then I blacked out again.

When I awoke I saw everything as if I was dying. Which if it weren't for my brother offering to pay I would be. Jake was there again and I had a terrible cough when I woke up. He looked at me concerned and I moved over and patted the open space next to me. He got up and cuddled me. I no longer had a voice. And I then saw everyone and I waved with a smile. I figured Jake told them. I picked up the pencil and paper and wrote "Did you tell them?" He smiled and looked at me

"Yes. " I smiled and laid my head on him. The next day was when I heard the doctor explain everything. Josh was there. And as he said I was getting help.
