Chapter 24

We had been driving for the past 20 minutes, and we would be driving for over 3 hours. The show was actually tomorrow, but practices were today.

"Is anyone hungry?" Ben broke the silence. He was 28, young, black hair, he was slim, he was strong, but he didn't look it. He had been working for me since I started riding. You could say he was the best friend I've ever had.

"I don't thinks so, we ate before coming." I said kindly with a smile as I looked out the window.

"Ok, coffee?" He drove carefully which is why we had kept him so long.

"Sounds splendid" I smiled and looked at him. After that we all fell silent until we arrived at a Starbucks.

"What would you two like?" I turned and looked at Devin and "Mystery".

"Ill have a Carmel mocha"

"And Ill have the same"

Ben ordered two Carmel mochas, my java chip frappe, and he got a hazelnut frappe for himself. We all got our coffee and we then started our journey again.

~1 hour later~

"Can we pull over?" I said looking at Ben as he nodded

"Sure" he pulled into a side lot with a large grassy area to the side. I hopped out and checked on Jedi, and Eclipses hay. Ben got Eclipse out while I got Jedi. I had gotten two water buckets out. Jedi started drinking from one while Eclipse drank from the other. When they finished drinking, I allowed them to graze for 10 minutes on the green grass. We grazed them for 10 minutes and load them back in. I hopped in the passenger seat and buckled up just as Ben got in doing the same.

"The lock is on?" I said looking at him.

"Indeed, Angelica."

"Good" I said before taking a sip of coffee.

Hours passed it was 3:00 when we pulled into the barn. It wasn't as fancy, but they had the stalls ready. A man walked out and waited,

"Shall I-" Ben cut him off,

"The only ones handling these two horses are shall to be me, and Angelica" he looked amazed

"Are you talking about Angelica Vanatello?"

"Indeed" Ben nodded as he took the lock of the back of the trailer and I led Jedi off,

"Easy boy" I said almost cooing him

Jedi backed off without a lead but stood awaiting one. The boy reached his hand out to touch Jedi softly on the neck but I took my crop out of my boot and smacked his hand,

"Listen little fuck, Don't TOUCH my horses" I silently spoke with a disapproving look on my face.

"I'm sorry miss"

"You better learn or your gonna meet my inner bitchiness" after that I believed I scared him because he walked away.

Jedi and Eclipse were locked in their stalls and I stood looking into the tack part of my trailer trying to decide what to take first. I felt arms wrap around my stomach picking me up,

"Who the" I turned around to find Luke grinning at me,

"Oh you son of a" I kissed him silently as I held his hand.

"Do you need any help?" He smiled

"Of course could you take these?" I handed him the two bridles as I grabbed a saddle. We walked back into the stable setting the corresponding tack in front of the correct stall.

We got everything into the stable just a it was time to tack up for training. I kissed Luke quickly as I started tacking up.

"I wish we had more time together" he said looking at the ground.

"Me as well" I said rushing to tack up. It was silence afterward. He held Jedi as I set my foot in the stirrup and swung onto his back and I began walking to the practice arena with Luke holding Jedi.

"I love you!" He said looking up to me

"I love you too" I smiled looking down at him.

We got to the arena, nobody was in it so I squeezed my leg causing Jedi to enter a smooth extended trot. I squeezed again getting a nice smooth canter. I headed to the vertical and soared over it and I turned to go to the in and out and we jumped it with a perfect stride between it. I then continued jumping the other jumps perfectly. I patted his neck and looked up to see a crowd of people had been watching me practice. I laughed and rode to Luke and hopped off.

"That was great!" He smiled and hugged me

"Thanks Luke" I hugged him back as we started our walk back to the barn.

I walked in and put Jedi into his stall and began untacking as I heard a bitchy ass girl start talking.

"Oh Angelica, you won't win"

"Not after losing your prize winner" I turned around to find my arch nemesis try and touch Eclipse who virtually bit her hand causing me to burst out laughing.

"Oh Veronica, haven't you heard my horses only obey me" I said with a bitchy tone to piss her off

"Ugh, you won't win, I won't let you" she twirled her hair and walked over to me,

"Is that a threat, from Veronica, ohh I'm sooooo scared" I said sarcastically

"Oh you better" she clutched her hand into a fist and walked away.
