Stevie got into the passenger seat and waited for Lindsey to come out. He joined her a few minutes later and took her hand in his.

"Can I ask you something?" His eyes were wide, and his energy was all over the place.

"Anything" she says, unnerved by his urgency. As soon as she spoke, he seemed to visibly relax and it made Stevie feel a lot better. He stroked her knuckles with his thumb and looked into her dark brown eyes.

"A few days ago, we had no future at all and then overnight, everything changed. We're recommitting to each other and I never want to let you go again. I guess what I want to say is, Angel, will you wear my ring again?" He asks and presents the silver ring she had handed back to him.

"Yes" she says, leaning in for a kiss and fighting tears. He puts the ring back on her finger and she admires it. It's a simple ring but it's hers and it's finally back where it belongs. It means more to her than just about any other ring she's ever received.

Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying "Lord I just don't care"
But you've got the love I need
To see me through

"I love you so much" he says.

"I love you too, honey."

"This feels really right."

"It's a shame we wasted so much time."

"At least we spent everyday together and we have never missed a moment of our children's lives."

"That's true" she says, nodding. "I'm so lucky to have you."

"And I, you."

Sometimes it seems the going is just too rough
And things go wrong no matter what I do
Now and then it seems that life is just too much
But you've got the love I need
To see me through

When food is gone you are my daily meal, oh
When friends are gone I know my savior's love is real
Your love is real

"I can't wait to see them" she says as he starts the car. The journey to her parents' house is short and they pull into the driveway. Lindsey gets out of the car and opens her door for her, helping her out. She smiles her gratitude and they walk up to the front door, excited to see their children. Stevie knocks softly, the door immediately opening.

"TeeDee!" Her mother says, hugging her.

"Mama!"

"How are you, sweet girl? Come in!" She ushers the couple inside.

"I'm great" Stevie says, smiling up at Lindsey.

"I'm glad. You seem to be doing better, Lindsey"

"I am. Steph is staying."

"No Texas, no Brock?" Barbara asked, arching an eyebrow.

"A thing of the past" Stevie says.

"Good girl"

"I take it you didn't like him?"
