"Good morning, my little gypsy" Lindsey says, kissing Stevie. She obviously wasn't ready to wake up yet as she turned over in bed, burying herself in the covers. "Are you hungry?" She didn't respond. "I have an awesome day planned for us. The kids are already at school." It seems to have no effect so he turns to leave.
"Wait" the muffled voice says.
He smiles to himself. "I'm sorry to wake you up so early"
"It's okay. You planned something for us to do today?"
"Yeah, in honor of our six month anniversary"
"Oh my god, I'm the worst girlfriend!" She says, sitting up and he chuckles.
"You've been busy and you've had a lot on your mind. I don't blame you"
"I do have something I made for you though. Would you like to see it?"
"Stevie, you shouldn't have..."
"I wanted to. At least I have a gift for you." She slips out of bed wearing practically nothing and goes to her closet to get a box off the shelf. "Here" she says, handing it to him and sitting back down on the bed cross-legged.
"What's in here?"
"Open it and find out"
He lifts the lid and there is a large leather book inside. Taking it out of the box he realizes it's a photo album. Stevie is biting her lip, on the edge of her seat. "Oh, Stephanie..." he says, turning the first couple of pages.
"They're your plans versus the final product. I have pictures from all of the sites I could get my hands on. Our house is in there too."
"Wow, thank you! This is amazing!" He hugs her tightly and presses a kiss to her neck. "I love you. Thank you so much for putting all this work into something for me."
"It was actually supposed to be a Christmas present but I was trying to get all the map coordinates and I couldn't finish it in time"
"You're amazing."
"No, I'm not. I just wanted you to have it."
"It means a lot to me. I love you"
"I love you too" She leans forward to kiss his lips, smiling as she pulls away.
"How about your present? It's not as impressive as yours but it's custom" He hands her a box and she looks up at him, untying the ribbon.
"Ooh!" She says, looking down at what is in her hands.
"Kyanite and Mookaite." Lindsey says. "But I'm sure you know that. Kyanite is one of the only stones to never hold or retain negative energy and it's supposed to be great for changing relationships and settling past disputes, self expression and it aligns the chakras. The Mookaite is supposed to be calming. I don't know."
"You're right." she says, smiling. The silver cuff bracelet is truly beautiful. There is a larger kyanite in the middle with alternating mookaite and kyanite at either side. "Its gorgeous Lindsey!" She puts it on and gives him a huge kiss. "I love you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"You're welcome. I was looking at crystals and when I was reading the meanings, I thought these would be perfect for you."
"Both of these stones are great for change and new beginnings."
"Are they?"
"Yeah, so you did a perfect job. I'm so happy!"
"Anything to see that smile on your face. I'm so glad you like it!" He kisses her forehead and gets off the bed. "Are you ready to go?"
"Let me fix myself up a little bit. I just got up!"
"We will leave in an hour then?"
"Perfect" she says, watching him as he leaves the room.
She smiles to herself as she looks for something to wear. She does her makeup and fixes her hair, finally putting on her clothes. She floats into the foyer to find the boots she wants and goes back to the bedroom to put on another necklace. Hurrying down the hallway, she was suddenly hit with a wave of nausea but it left her as quickly as it came.
"You look gorgeous! I need to step up my game" Lindsey says, kissing her. She wore a velvet top and a chiffon skirt with suede boots, lots of silver jewelry and her hair fell in natural waves. Her hair was getting so long and he loved it. Lindsey's usual tee shirt, jeans and leather jacket might need a little revamping after seeing her, he thought. He grabbed her bag for her, knowing she would have forgotten it and escorts her out to the car. "Is something on your mind?" He asks on their drive. She was blankly staring out the window, playing with her fingernails in her lap.
"Huh? No, nothing"
"You'd tell me if their was, right?"
"Yeah, definitely" she says, unconvincingly.
"Alright" he says. He brings them to a huge outdoor market with produce, crafts, fabrics, antiques and anything you could think of. Usually Lindsey hates going to these places and shopping all day but he wanted to make her happy and this was one thing she loved to do. She gasped at all around her.
"You're letting me shop?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"I just thought it was different and it's such a beautiful day"
"Yes it is. Thank you, Lindsey"
"You're welcome, baby"
He opened her car door for her and helped her out, reminded her about her purse again and they walked through the different stalls and booths that caught her eye. She admired antique rings and lamps. Lindsey was even happy with what he had seen, talking to the little shop owners. He radiated happiness. They picked up enough food and a bottle of organic sweet red wine for a little picnic and sat on a big, colorful woven blanket they had purchased. She lay with her head in his lap and looked up at him, and he down at her.
"I love you" he said.
"I love you too. Thank you for today"
"It's not over yet. I have another surprise this evening."
"Lindsey, it's too much!"
"You don't even know what it is yet"
"Well?"
"Now it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you, would it?"
She giggles. "I guess not"
"You will find out soon enough" he says, leaning down to softly kiss her lips.
