The quiet in the hospital room was too much, until he heard her voice. He turned around and rushed to her side.

"You scared me to death!" He said, kissing her repeatedly.

"I was scared too" she said.

"I should have been there to protect you."

"Please don't blame yourself. How were any of us to know Brock would be there? He, he was taping us. He bugged our house. He knew we slept together when he and I were together...he was watching us."

"How?"

"I don't know but he did it. He told me he's seen me..." She lowers her eyes, embarrassed. "When I miss your touch..."

"I get it" Lindsey says, not forcing her to say it. She was always so nervous to talk about things like that. "What a sick fuck! I'm going to have so much ammo to make him stay in jail this time. Doesn't he have a business to run? Doesn't he have something else to do with his free time besides follow my wife around and scare my children?!" Lindsey says, getting angry.

"Relax, baby. We are all fine."

"No you're not, our kids are crying in the hallway, waiting for mommy to wake up and you had a panic attack and collapsed. You're seven months pregnant! I wish there were something more I could have done"

"You've done so much. You came to me when I needed you, you helped our kids through this difficult time and you've given us a beautiful life. We're together, solid and we have a baby coming soon. This is the life we wanted. Please, don't feel like you haven't done enough. You told me you would give me the world" she tells him, tears welling up in her eyes "And you did." Her voice becomes weak and hoarse with the tears and he embraces her. "You are everything I've ever wanted. You are enough, you're so enough"

"I love you so much" Lindsey said, tears slipping down his own cheeks.

"I love you too. So, what was the next song that was going to play?"

"Uhh" He wipes his eyes with the back of his hand and takes his iPod out of his pocket. "This one" He hits play and the words fill the room.

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing

"Is this a playlist of sappy love songs?" she teased, smiling at him.

"No, it was a rough wedding playlist, if you ever said yes"

She was shocked at first but it grew on her. "That's so sweet, Lindsey." She feels much stronger as she looks at him, moving to get off the bed.

Watch you smile while you are sleeping
Well you're far away dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
And just stay here lost in this moment forever
Well, every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure

"What are you doing?"

"I want to dance with you." she says and he looks concerned. "Hold me" He nods and gives her space to get down, pressing her against his body the best he could. "I love you more than life"

"I love you just as much as life" he says and she looks up at him. "Because you are my life" She smiles, laying her head on his chest, tightening her grip on him and his on her.

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Lying close to you
Feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
And I just wanna stay with you
Just stay in this moment forever, forever and ever

They swayed together, the hospital room melting away. They could have been anywhere now, wrapped in each other's arms. They could be in Paris, or Milan, the French Quarter or somewhere on Maui. The love they felt for each other only intensified over the years and they were bursting at the seams.

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep, yeah
I don't wanna miss a thing

"I want to go home" Stevie said as the song ended. They didn't stop swaying together. The gentle movement was calming and peaceful for them both.

"I will have to see if you can be discharged. Why do you want to go home so bad?"

"I need you. I don't want to be cooped up in here without my family." He nods, understanding the need to feel comforted. "I, I also have my heart set on making love to you." she says, blushing.

"Stevie, do you think that's safe?"

"I'm fine, Baby Buck is fine...all we have to do is get the hell out of here"

"Stevie..."

"Yes? Are you turning me down?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.

"No, I'm just...astounded. I am dying to make love to you" he says, pressing himself into her, forcing her hand down to feel the mounting pressure in his jeans.

"Mmm" she moaned. "Lindsey...get me out of here. Now."

"I will do my very best." He says, kissing her and leaving the room. The kids bound in and she kisses them and hugs them, reassuring them she's okay. Her kids calm down drastically and are able to feel a little better about all that has happened. She tries to stay focused and answer any questions they have but her mind is occupied by a much older Buckingham.
