The war had started. Everybody who was eligible was fighting, including Kakashi and I. Mirai was taken to a safe bunker along with the other children. The Allied Shinobi Forces had formed, joining all the nations together. Kakashi was the commander of the Third Division, the division I, coincidentally, was in.

We fought off hundreds, thousands of white Zetsu. We fought reanimations of the strongest ninja ever known. Everybody was suspicious of everybody, because of the white Zetsu infiltrating our bases, turning into our own ninja. Madara had returned – the real Madara, not the Akatsuki fake behind the mask. The five Kage were fighting Madara. Kakashi, Guy and I were fending off more white Zetsu. "Wind blade!" I yelled, cutting through a Zetsu that was jumping on top of us. Our chakra levels were low, and I could feel it. Blood streaked down my face. It was quiet for a while as we leaned against the trees, trying to restore our chakra. Kakashi cupped my face and kissed me. I could feel his sweat, his blood, his tears, but I didn't care. I kissed back, with all the strength I could muster. "I love you, Katsi. No matter what, I will always love you." He wiped the blood on my face away with his thumbs. "I love you, too, Kashi, I always will. Don't you dare forget it." He kissed me again. I knew that we could lose each other at any moment. I wasn't scared. I was terrified. This could really be the end of all of us. Everything was at stake. I thought of our daughter.

*Flashback*

"Mommy!" Mirai screamed. I kneeled down to her, "Mirai, baby, you have to be strong for me and daddy. Go with these jonin, and stay safe with the other children." She was crying, clinging to me. I knew she didn't want to let go. I didn't want to let go, either. "Please don't go, mommy, stay with me, and bring daddy, too, so we can all stay safe." She cried. My heart ached, "Mommy and daddy have to fight the bad guys, to protect you and everybody else, so you can have a good life. I promise, I'll come back for you, and I'll bring daddy back along with me." I hugged her tightly and kissed her on the head.

"Now, promise to be a good girl, okay? Stay with the other children and listen to the guards. Mommy loves you, and daddy loves you." She nodded, "I promise, mommy. Do you pinky promise to come back?" She held out her pinky. I chuckled softly and held it with my own pinky.

"I promise."

*End of flashback*

"Katsi!" Kashi had grabbed me, pulling me away from something. I couldn't see what it was. I guess I had zoned out. Very grave mistake. Fuck. Kakashi leaned me against a tree, "Katsi? What the fuck?! Are you trying to get yourself killed?" My breathing was shallow, I was panting, sweating and shaking. "Kashi... I'm so sorry... It won't happen again." He sighed, "Are you okay?" I nodded. "DUCK!" I screamed. I was glad Kakashi was so quick, as I stepped on his shoulder and lunged at the three Zetsu that were trying to sneak up on him. I was cutting them up, using my wind blade. Swinging at the last Zetsu, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. I screamed as I took the Zetsu's head off. "KATSI!" I heard as I fell to my knees, looking down at my stomach. A kunai was sticking out of me. Kakashi kneeled down beside me, "Guy! We need a medical nin, NOW! GO FIND ONE!" My breathing hitched, "No, Kashi... It's fine, I can heal... Myself..." I clutched the kunai in my stomach and Kakashi's hand was on top of mine, "You'll run out of chakra if you try to heal yourself!" Kakashi helped me sit, leaning my back against a tree. I gripped the kunai tightly and pulled it out sharply, shrieking in pain, quickly covering the wound with my hand. I heard yelling in the distance. "Are you okay?" Kakashi was worried, I knew it. I nodded and focused on healing my wound. A green glow emitted from my hands. I felt the pain dull down, but I knew that I couldn't heal this fully on my own. I silently hoped that Guy had found a medical nin, but I knew that there were already so many wounded that needed more help than I did. I groaned as my hands started to shake. "NO! KATSI! STOP! YOU'RE GOING TO RUN OUT OF CHAKRA!" Kakashi yelled. "I'll be okay, don't worry about me. I'll never leave you," I said, even though I might be deceiving him right now. I knew I couldn't hold on for too long. I screamed and mustered the last of my chakra, healing my wound. Kakashi frantically gripped my shoulders, a tear escaping his Sharingan eye, "KATSI! STAY WITH ME! DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE LEAVE ME RIGHT NOW!" I was on the edge, and I knew I couldn't afford to go any further. I groaned and let go, my hands falling to my sides. I had done all I could. Kakashi quickly bandaged me up, "Are you alright?" I shook my head, "It hurts like hell and I need to rest and regain my chakra." He was looking at me anxiously, "Can I do anything? Tell me what to do!" I sighed, "The medical nin are too busy as it is..." I couldn't say anymore, Kakashi had already picked me up, bridal style, being careful not to touch my hastily bandaged wound. He was racing against time. I could feel my eyes slowly closing, but I wouldn't let them. I had to fight. I had to protect Kakashi and Mirai. I had to protect Naruto, and Sakura, and my friends. I had to protect my village. "KATSI! DON'T YOU FUCKING DIE ON ME!" I laid my head on his shoulder. I suddenly saw a bright light. "I NEED MEDICAL HELP! NOW!" Kakashi yelled. "I'm sorry, sir, but we already have a lot of shinobi to treat..." I couldn't see what was happening. "I AM YOUR COMMANDER. AND YOU WILL HEAL MY WIFE SO SHE'S WELL AND ABLE TO FIGHT." I felt the medical nin's fear as I was carried to a gurney. I looked up at the nin peeling away the bandages on my stomach and healing me. I guessed being the commander's wife had it's perks, but I felt bad for her. "I'm sorry about my husband," I whispered to her quietly. She shook her head, "It's okay. I do understand. It's just that there are so many wounded shinobi here." I knew. "I know, that's why I tried to heal myself. I didn't want to be brought here, I protested, because I knew that you already had your hands more than full, but I was too weak to do much." I nodded in appreciation. I sighed in relief as the pain left my body. "Thank you so much. You saved my life. What is your name?" She smiled at me weakly, "I'm Yuka. And it's no problem. But you should rest a bit, just until your chakra levels are back to normal. It shouldn't take too long. I've restored as much as I am able to." I nodded to her, "Thank you, Yuka, and it's very nice to meet you. I hope to see you after all of this is done, I owe you dinner." She looked flustered, "Oh, no, no, Katsumi-sama!" Sama, really? Did I look that old? "I insist, Yuka, it's the least I could do after you literally saved my life." She hesitated, but then agreed. She waved me goodbye, going to heal the other ninja, leaving me to sit on the gurney, restoring my chakra.

"Flirting with other women, Katsi? I didn't know you would cheat on me," Kakashi came in chuckling. "You heard that?" He nodded and I smiled at him. "Thanks for bringing me here... I don't know if I would have made it. I owe you dinner, too." He smiled and leaned over to me, his face inches from mine. "I think you owe me a bit more than dinner," He said huskily, pecking my lips through his mask, making me blush. "Oh, Kashi, your pervy side never changes, even at war." I giggled. "You should go back out there, you're the commander, after all." He shook his head vigorously, "I'll only go when I see that you're fully better." I rolled my eyes, but knew that arguing wouldn't get me anywhere. Anyway, I guessed that Kakashi needed a few minutes to rest and get some of his chakra back, too. I leaned my head on his shoulder, relaxing against him. "I love you," I said quietly to him. I felt his kiss my temple through his mask, "I love you, too."

Some time had passed, although I couldn't say exactly how much. Time felt strange in the midst of the battle. I was feeling much better. "Kashi, how are you feeling?" He looked down at me, "The real question is – how are you feeling?" I giggled, "Much better." He gave me his trademark closed-eye smile. "Okay. Are you ready? We have to advance and help Naruto and Killer Bee." I stood up, "Let's go." I hoped I would see Yuka after all of this was over.

Hundreds of thousands of Shinobi were running, advancing in the war. We were winning. For now. I ran next to Kakashi, sprinting as fast as I could. I saw bright lights all around the battlefront, "Kashi! Look!" I pointed to the side. It seemed as though the reanimated nin were dying, all at once. "The Edo Tensei must have been cancelled," Kakashi muttered. "I wonder who did it." We finally saw the Gedo Mazo come into view. Everybody positioned themselves to fight. A figure was standing on it's head. I recognized him as Tobi. "What do we do?" I asked. "We have to find out who Tobi is. That way, we might get some new information as to his abilities and strength. " I nodded. "You stick by me," Kakashi suddenly said, taking my hand and squeezing it. "We're going to win this. Together." I reassured him, although I couldn't be certain of anything.

Kakashi tried to use his Kamui on the Gedo Mazo's head, only for his attack to be blocked by Tobi. "That's weird... Nobody's ever been able to cancel out my Kamui," Kakashi said quietly to me. "Do you think there's a connection?" I whispered back. His brow furrowed. "Stay with the others," He told me, "Naruto! Guy! I need you."

I watched Naruto and Guy attack Tobi while Kakashi used his Kamui on the places Tobi was 'invincible'. And that's how his mask got a scratch. I had my doubts about Tobi's identity, but Kakashi looked as if he was slowly figuring it out. They attacked once more, tearing off Tobi's right sleeve. Kakashi landed back to me. "What are you thinking?" I asked. He looked at me grimly. "I think I know who it is... But I can't be sure... And... I mean, it can't be!" Naruto made a clone to distract his, while using a Tailed Beast Bomb himself. All I could see was Kakashi use his Kamui, Naruto's close going into it, and the next thing I know, Tobi's mask was gone. I gasped. Kakashi looked shocked. He should be dead. We both screamed.

"OBITO?!"
