It was a hot day. The sun burned our exposed skin as we entered Konoha, heading straight for the hospital, not bothering to leave our backpacks at our homes. Tsunade wanted to get started as soon as possible. Kakashi was nervous, he kept squeezing my hand, and sometimes I thought it was more for his benefit than my own. "I'll be okay, Kashi," I whispered to him and he nodded. I still wasn't all too sure about the outcome, but I had to take this risk. Who knew how much time I would have if I didn't go through with this? Jiraya had left us to report to the Hokage, so it was just Kakashi, Tsunade and I.

We entered the hospital and the doctors and nurses immediately bowed, "Tsunade-sama," She nodded to them, then gestured to me, "I need to perform surgery on this woman. I'm going to need a room and some medical instruments." Two of the nurses bowed their heads and nodded vigorously, leading us to an empty room. "This is nice," I said sheepishly. It actually was nice, well, as nice as a hospital room can be. Tsunade handed me a hospital gown, "Put this on, I'll call you for the surgery once the operational room is ready." She exited and I started to take off my clothes, stopping on my shirt. "Kashi, are you going to just stare at me while I change?" He smirked, "Why wouldn't I? It's a lovely scene." I blushed and he rested his hands on my hips, kissing me deeply. He let me go and sat in the chair next to the bed. "Let's get this show started," He said, grinning wildly. I rolled my eyes, but decided to tease him, taking off my shirt slowly and proceeding to unzip my pants. I could see the bulge forming in Kakashi's pants as the clothes left my body. "Like what you see?" I smirked teasingly, taking off my bra. He let out a loud groan and I giggled. "Sorry, but I have to cover up now," I said, taking the hospital gown into my hands. I was suddenly pinned to the hospital bed by an aroused and flustered Kakashi. He started kissing down my neck and lightly squeezing one of my breasts, "You know I hate it when you tease me," He growled into my ear, sending a chill down my spine. I lightly pushed him off, he groaned as my hands touched his chest tenderly. "I promise to make it up to you when this is all over," I said, pulling the hospital gown on. "You'll do more than that," He winked at me and I giggled. Tsunade entered the room, "Everything's ready for you." I gulped, my anxiety coming back, and followed Tsunade.

I sat on an operation table as Tsunade took some blood from Kakashi. He seemed pleased with himself, if a little pale from the sudden blood loss, I knew it was nothing serious, though. I knew Kakashi wanted to help me badly, and I think he felt glad getting to help me by donating his blood, and I was happy that he felt better about himself. I gripped the edge of the bed, my nerves getting the best of me. I pushed the negative thoughts out of my head as Tsunade approached me, holding a couple of blood packets. I laid back onto the bed as Tsunade put an oxygen mask over my mouth. I felt a sharp pain as she injected something into my arm, sending me into complete darkness.

*Kakashi's POV*

Tsunade let me stay in the room in case she needed me to help her with something, and she also understood how worried I was about Katsumi. Her eyes were closed, her breathing even, she looked serene. "I shall start now," Tsunade announced and I nodded. I watched her as she deposited the antidote into her right arm, Tsunade's right hand emitted a green glow and I knew she was gathering the disease cells into one place to lead them out later. She stuck a needle that was connected to an empty blood packet into her right arm and moved her glowing hands up to it. A black liquid started pouring into the packet. I sighed with relief as I realized that it was working. Tsunade's eyes narrowed as the packet quickly filled up. She changed it for a new one. In a few minutes, I was nervously looking at the four packets full of the blackness. Tsunade made sure that she had taken every last bit of it out, and attached a packet of my blood to a needle, inserting it into Katsumi's arm. "She lost a lot of blood," Tsunade said, "But thanks to you, we'll be able to restore it and she should be alright." Happiness surged through me. She had really done it. My Katsi would be alive, well, and she wouldn't have to worry about some disease anymore. "Thank you so much, Tsunade-sama," I gratefully said. She sighed and wiped her forehead with her free hand. "Don't thank me yet, Kakashi. It's still not over." I was only half-listening. The procedure had worked, and Katsumi would be okay. I watched as my own blood was transferred to my girlfriend. My girlfriend. That felt so nice to say, to even think. I thought of what would happen after this was all over. I would take her out for a nice dinner, she deserved it. Or maybe I would make her my homemade ramen that she loves so much. Yes, that sounds good. I wanted to treat her in any way I could after her having to go through all of this.

"That's the last of it," Tsunade interrupted my thoughts, "She should wake up in a few hours. It looks like everything will be okay. Call me or a nurse when she wakes up." I nodded and she left the room. I noticed that she had hooked Katsumi up to an IV and a machine that showed her pulse and blood pressure. It all looked normal to me, well, wasn't it supposed to beep rapidly if something was wrong, anyway? I sat down in a plastic chair that was near the bed. I lightly tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. I watched her chest rise and fall rhythmically. So peaceful, and so amazingly beautiful even when she was asleep. I propped my head up with my hand as I watched her. I felt the urge, the need to climb in next to her and cuddle her, hug her, kiss her. Love her. My eyes drooped and I felt myself drift away, into the land of dreams.

I jumped up when I heard the machine beep crazily. My eyes were wide as I stared at the monitor. I didn't understand all the numbers on the screen, so I ran into the hallway, "Tsunade-sama! Anybody!?" I yelled down the hall. Tsunade appeared suddenly and ran up to me. She understood immediately and made her way to Katsumi's bed, me trailing closely behind her. "This isn't good... Her blood pressure is very high." Tsunade frowned and I started panicking, "What does this mean? Will she be okay?" She ignored me for the time being, sticking a syringe into her arm and looking frantically from Katsumi to the monitor. After a few moments, the beeping steadied at the same rate as it was before. "She should be okay," Tsunade said, but I could see guilt in her eyes, as if she wasn't telling me something. She looked away from me, though, and turned to leave the room, "Call me when she wakes up," She simply said and exited. I sat back down next to Katsumi's bed and held her cold hand in my own. I made sure not to fall asleep this time around.

Katsumi stirred. I stood up quickly in surprise, letting her hand go and yelling for Tsunade to come in. She opened her eyes, those gorgeous blue eyes I had longed to see. I helped her take off the oxygen mask, "Katsi, you're back! Oh, I'm so happy, everything's okay, you're okay, see? Everything worked out!" Tsunade entered, immediately checking the monitor and looking to Katsumi, "How are you feeling, Katsumi?" I grinned eagerly, but something was wrong. Katsumi's eyes were blank as she stared up at us. "Are you okay, Katsi?" I asked softly. The words that escaped her mouth shattered my heart.

"Who's Katsi? Who are you?"
