Kakashi and I were finishing packing our backpacks for our long journey to the Stone in search of the Legendary Sannin. I checked, for the hundredth time, if I had packed everything I needed, and left my apartment, closing the door behind me. Kakashi was already waiting for me in the hallway. He took my hand and gave me a comforting smile as we left. "Kakashi, do you mind telling Hokage-sama that we're leaving now by yourself? I... I want to see my father." He nodded understandingly, "Of course." He kissed me through his mask and turned to go to the Hokage's office. I made my way to the KIA stone.

I kneeled in front of the memorial stone. "Hello, father. I'm twenty-one today. I'm sure you know what that means. It broke my heart to hear the truth about me, my clan, you, from Sarutobi-sama. I am leaving to go to the Stone today to hopefully find the Legendary Sannin. Sarutobi-sama told me that Tsunade might cure me. I hope she does. Kakashi is coming with me. He's going to help however he can. We love each other, so much. I can't really bear the idea of possibly losing him along with my life. Anyway, I might not visit for a while. Goodbye, father," I finished, wiping the tear that escaped my eye. "Hello, Tamiko-Sensei, Hiroji, Ishiro. It's my birthday today, you know. Kakashi made me an amazing breakfast and birthday cake, and I found out that I possess one of the most powerful Kekkei Genkai known to man. Nice birthday present, am I right? But having this Kekkei Genkai means that I have a lethal blood disease. I'm going to travel to the Stone with Kakashi now to hopefully find Tsunade of the Legendary Sannin. Hokage-sama said that she could help me. I hope to talk to you soon. Goodbye."

*Kakashi's POV*

I left Hokage-sama's office after telling him that we were leaving for the Stone. I made my way down to the KIA stone to find Katsumi there, kneeling in front of it. I didn't want to eavesdrop on her conversation with her father and former team, so I kept my distance, waiting for her in the street. I just watched her. My usually strong and confident Katsi was replaced by a sad and fragile one. I couldn't blame her. I didn't expect her birthday to go like this. I fumbled with the gift I had got her in my pocket. I thought she would appreciate it, though she didn't really like gifts all too much, she had told me this multiple times. I would give it to her later to try and cheer her up. I felt so sorry for her. All her life, she had been surrounded by death and destruction. I knew I was the only thing she had and the only thing she truly cared about. I wanted to help her so badly, but I didn't know if there was anything I could do. I didn't want to lose her. She deserved so much more life than she was destined to have. I prayed that Tsunade could find a cure for her illness. I was determined to help her in any way I could. My thoughts were interrupted as I saw her approach me, smiling sadly. "I'm ready," She said. I grabbed her hand and walked to the village entrance. We looked at each other before stepping out of our village and walking further, not turning back.

And so our journey started.

*Normal POV*

We ran through the trees as fast as we could, sticking close to each other. It was a pretty far journey to the Stone from the Hidden Leaf. As we ran, I tried out my Kekkei Genkai, particularly my sensory abilities. I was using it to see if there were any enemies in our path. So far, so good.

We had been running for about 7 hours, and I was getting tired. Kakashi noticed this, "Do you think it's time to set up camp?" It was getting dark as well. I nodded and we jumped down from the trees, scoping for a good camping spot. "Here," I told him, gesturing to a small cave hidden in the trees. He came over to my side, "Perfect." I set up our sleeping bags and checked our surrounding while Kakashi went to get firewood. I kept my Kazegan activated so I could see that Kakashi was okay. I reached under my shirt and pulled out the chakra necklace he had given me, fumbling with it. I turned the beautiful teardrop-shaped stone between my fingers, watching Kakashi's chakra float around in it. His chakra was a beautiful blue color, calm and serene. I felt him coming back and I peered out of the cave. I helped Kakashi make a fire, smiling at him. We sat back, he hugged my waist as I rested my head on his shoulder. I pulled a blanket over us to keep us warmer.
