Chapter 23: A Quest and Some Answers

Brittany's POV

"Well we don't know where she is and he's in a different universe. But, I was reading one of the books Mary left you and you can travel between different alternate universes." Carlisle said pacing back in forth across the marble floor in the kitchen bouncing out ideas.

"I know of someone who we can stay with, but he is also from the same universe as Valentine. He's the High Warlock of Brooklyn, Magnus Bane. I sense he will be useful to us in this matter." I say as I finish my second plate of food, forming how we were to do such a thing.

I was getting up to go get more food when the door bell rang. I started to walk to the door when Seth stopped me as he was already at the door.

I heard him open the door and the scent of the ocean hit me. And there is only one person I know who would smell like that.

"Percy!" I got up quickly letting out a squeal and ran to the door, to see their shocked faces as to them I appeared out of then air. Then I realized something was up when I saw their cheerful but serious faces and my thoughts quickly raced.

"I'd image the Oracle gave you a quest as to why you are here, other than that I don't know why you would come this far south. Unless you missed me so much" I said with a smirk.

"Yes and no. We are here because the Oracle has requested for you and we came to retrieve you. And we also aren't the only ones here." Annabeth said as Ray and I would assume the person with horns on his head as Grover peeped their heads out from behind the others.

"Well come in we are talking about a vision Alice and I had." I said turning away and walking back into the dinning room. We all sat down and I showed the demigods my vision of Maria and Valentine.

"Guys it's almost time to leave for school!" Leah said interrupting my conversation with Annabeth and Percy.

"Yeah, it is isn't it." I said agreeing with her as I glanced at the clock and I stood up.

"We will continue this conversation when we get back and Esme will take really good care of you while we are gone." I said smiling and grabbing my backpack. As I walked out the door I yelled jokingly to Grover, "Don't eat Esme's flowers!"

I ran to my car with Caius in the passenger seat and Alec and Jane sitting in the backseat. We drove to school and went inside as the bell rung and we hurried to class. As the morning announcements ended and class finally began, Mr. Daris told us to start our reading assignments that he gave us before spring break.

I pulled out The Hobbit and started to read until Caius whispered to me that he doesn't have a book. I searched in my pack for another book and I gave him my copy of Dracula, Caius just looked at me as if I was joking.

"It's all I have and it's a classic" I whispered to him and held his hand. I went back to reading and writing down quotes from the book and giving my thoughts for the pages I read until class ended.

When class ended I hugged Caius bye and showed him where his next class was located, which was art, then walked to Spanish class. After that class came to an end I made my way down stairs and waited for Caius, Jane, Alec, and Dimitri.

We walked to calculus and sat down. When class started Mr. Heath told us to get on our Chromebooks for a game. After the game was finished we all got some candy and Mr. Heath gave us some worksheets to do. When the bell rang, we packed up and we walked to lunch, sat down and waited for the others to get there. I leaned on Caius and I started to read everyone's minds.

"The blonde one is hot."
"Is he blind, she's fucking ugly, what the fuck.", Were some of the moderately negative thoughts I heard, the other thoughts enraged me. How could some girls think of my Caius like that, made me want to rip out their eyes. But I knew better, and I grinned when I 'heard' a nice thought and it was adorable.

But I was confused because it didn't match the thoughts of a teenager. It sounded like the thought of an infant and it was loud so I determined it was more than just one baby; the odd thing is though is that it was still within the womb, at the end I figured I would find out soon enough where and who these thoughts came from.

Lunch ended and Elizabeth and I walked to art saying goodbye to our mates who were going to Anatomy. I sat next to my friend Tyler, I was getting ready to slap him when I remembered I was a whole lot stronger than I was a week ago.

I softly slapped him on the arm and laughed. When health/driver's ed ended we headed to the studio side for the second part of my fourth block class. We started doing our clay projects and today we made clay animals out of pinch pots.

Mrs. Merkle told us to clean up our stations near the end of class. I handed my tools to Tyler so he could out it up in our shared shelf and ran at human speed to the main art room. After I got myself cleaned up and had my backpack on, I turned my phone on put my earbuds in. I walked out into the hallway with Elizabeth beside me and went out to meet Tyler at the gym doors.

We stood there and goofed off until the bell rung. Me and Elizabeth walked to the front of the school making our way in the crowd of students to wait for the others and my Caius. When they all got there, I grabbed Caius by the hand and we all walked to our cars.

As I was driving to the Cullen's house I had a vision of Zafren there waiting for me. As I pulled up through the driveway she was standing there on the porch waiting for me.
"Bout time you got here, I have some questions" I said getting out of my car.

Sorry it took so long for me to update but with school and having to many ideas of how I want this story and the next chapter to go is stressful. Hopefully the next chapter for this book won't take so long and I'm also starting to write a new book. I don't really know which one but I have got to have something to do while I have trouble writing this one and it keeps ideas going. Thank you all for all the reads and votes, it means a lot.
