Marcus's POV
I left to go talk to Athenodora about the news of finding Caius's true mate. I ran up to the tower on her side.
"Athenodora may I come in?" I said through the door.
"Yes." she said, I walked in and stood in front of her.
"I've got some news." I said looking at her not quite sure how she will react.
"What is it brother?" She said questioning me as she could tell I was a bit unwilling to tell her.
"We've found Caius's true mate." I said slowly so it can all sink in.
"Who is it? What's her name?" She said happily, which surprised the hell out of me.
"Its Brittany, the leader of the new coven." I said smiling, liking that she was taking this well.
"Oh I know she'll treat Cai well." she said smiling as well.
"It's not her I'm worried about it's Caius, you know how hard headed and judgmental he can be, but he was holding her hand when she passed out earlier so that's a good sign." I said hoping Caius might let up on his old ways.
"I just wish I new where my mate was." she said frowning, now this is what I was afraid of.
"I know Theo, I know, but maybe he hasn't been born yet, or he could be living a normal human life, or maybe he might have passed on already. Its better then being stuck in this miserable immortal life having had found the one and losing them." I said trying to comfort her, she gave me a weak smile and said,
"I'll go get the divorce papers." she got up went to her piled up desk and pulled out a paper that she has already signed. They've been having marital problems for a while now and she's had enough.
She's probably been waiting for the right time to give them to Caius. She handed them to me and hugged me. I got up left and went down to Caius's office, surprisingly he was already in there, sitting down reading some paper work. I walked up to his desk layer down the papers and zoomed out of the room.
Caius's POV
Marcus just came in and laid some papers down on my desk. I put down the papers that were in my hands and picked up what Marcus laid down.
Divorce papers, well about damn time the woman gave them to me, I saw them the other day in her room. I signed them and called Demetri in to send it off to be finalized.
I wonder if Brittany's awake yet. Why am I thinking this? She's a disgrace to all vampire kind, being part werewolf how revolting. But, I acted so lovingly and gentle to her today, I've never been like that not even with Athenodora.
I got up and ran to were Brittany was and she was there sitting on the little hospital bed singing a song I've never heard. She sounded so beautiful. I stood there memorized by this beautiful creature.
She turned around and saw me, she was surprised and shocked. She put her head down and blushed, it was so adorable. I walked up to her and lifted her head up and kissed her softly on the lips.
I stopped when I came to my senses, I backed away and I could see the hurt in her eyes that I stopped.
I turned around and ran to my part of the castle and stayed there locked away thinking about what I had just done. Kissing someone tainted with werewolf blood. What was wrong with me?
Brittany's POV
What the hell was that about? It was so sweet and innocent then it was gone. I stood there staring at the place were he was standing before he bolted. I started to tear up.
I ran to my room and cried and threw stuff in anger and made my room a big mess until someone came into my room and I calmed down and fell asleep. What was wrong with me?
