Chapter 29: Arrival

We passed state line after state line until we hit the boarder of Mexico and Texas, which was the starting point of Maria's territory. We eventually found an abandoned town out in the middle of nowhere and made camp. I sighed deeply as I finally got out of my car, I looked around at everything and saw what used to be an old saloon.

I walked over to the rickety old building and stepped inside away from everyone. I looked around and marveled at how well some of the inside was well preserved. As I walked behind the bar a glimmer hit my eyes and I bent down and picked up the glass bottle that was in the floor.

"Ah, a bottle of whiskey. Old as hell too." I opened it and sniffed it, my gut wrenched at the smell. "I doubt it will have any affect on me anyway." I said to myself as I shrugged and then chugged it down. I gagged and shook my whole body.

I looked out the window as I composed myself, I gazed at Jasper and I could tell he was as close to nervous as one could be while still being calm. They all had good terms with Maria, until now that is and she knew that too. I looked around more and started taking stuff out and putting it in Jacob's truck and he looked at me oddly.

"Don't worry, they're for me to fix up, you're just hauling them around until we get back home." I said with a small smile as he gave an understanding look.

Carlisle walked out of a building that was in rather good shape, except it didn't have any type of sign as to what kind of building it was. He told in front of us all and we gathered around to hear his command.

"I've assembled a war room of sorts in this store, and it will be our base of operations until we've accomplished our goal." Carlisle stated to us as we then moved most of our things into the store.

As everyone one set up their areas, I sat outside and stared at the desert and meditated. As my eyes were closed I was sucked into a vision.

My eyes wondered around in the cloudy mist until I came upon a garden. I heard soft talking and I followed the sound and as I did I discovered my grandparents sitting by a pond. Within the pond wasn't their reflections but the images of my little cousins running around outside.

They were watching over them and talking about how they can't wait to watch them grow up. I felt a tear drop from my right eye and it fell into the pond.

I woke up to Caius whipping a tear away from my face and kissing my head. He then handed me a cup filled with soup as he say beside me.

"Bella told me to bring this to you, said you might be hungry.", he wrapped his arm around me as I sipped from the cup, "you should be feeding on blood so you can have your full strength."

I nodded at his remark as I finished the soup, "I'll take them out to hunt when it's time." I stand up and go to dispose of the cup. After throwing it away I walk to the trunk of my car and open it. I open up my bag and pull out two swords and as I was looking for other things to practice with an amulet caught my eye.

"I must have missed seeing this when we left camp." I put it on and as it made contact with my skin it glowed, then my body glowed. I could feel something stretch forth from the amulet and cover my body. As the glowing stopped I looked in the glass window.

My body was covered in armor that looked like Anubis. The others came outside to look at it as well, they all looked a little shocked. My friends went to their cars and found similar amulets. They put them on one by one and their bodies glowed.

When the glow disappeared they all stood there in awe at each other. Our armor was similar except for the helmet part. Each one had the head of a different Egyptian God or goddess. Elizabeth had a rams head which was for the god Khnum.

Katie had the head of Bastet who has the head of a lion. Kaitlin had the head of Khepri, the scarab beetle headed God. Chelsea possessed a helmet of Sobek, the crocodile headed God. Lastly Adam had the head of Horus, which was of a hawk.

We all stood there and finally I picked my swords back up and started to spin them up in the air.

"Anyone wanna spar?" I playfully said a smile creeping on my lips. Elizabeth stepped forward and we started to dual. The others joined in with their own weapons.

After a few hours of us continuously hurting each other and giggling, we put our stuff away and took our amulets off removing the armor. We sat around the meeting table and waited for the other's to sit down.

"Jasper, Emmett, Felix, and Demetri have returned from their scouting excursion." Carlisle said as he laid out a small map and a pen. The boys walked in as the pen hit the table and sat in their seats.

We sat there for a few hours debating on which tactic would be best and Alice was there to help us out with the details of the attack. After a while everyone who had to sleep left the table and went to their rooms.

We finally decided to attack them from the south and north, then try to circle them in. My only job was to seek my revenge and get answers from Maria. The Cullen's, Jacob's pack, and half of the Volturi would take the north. The other half of the Volturi and my coven would take the south.

The next few days were filled with training and Jasper teaching us how to fight newborns. Everyone was on high alert just in case Maria sent any of her army to us. Eventually the day came when it was time to go to war.

Everyone packed their stuff and then we all went hunting. After fueling ourselves so we could be our strongest, we ran out separate ways to our battle positions.

My group took the long way South to avoid detection. When we arrived the battle was already underway just as planned and we were an element of surprise. We charged in and started taking newborns apart and throwing them into the fire.

All of a sudden a swarm of newborns came in behind my group, our surprise was anticipated. And we were cornered next to the fire.
