Morgan's POV
I let out a groan when I heard my alarm going off. I slowly got out of bed and hopped into the shower and finally changed into a new set of clothes for school.
The house was quite and I knew that my mom was probably still out getting high on drugs with her junky friends. But I didn't care about her because she never cared about me.
I grabbed my school bag and walked out the door and walked the usual route to school. As I crossed the street, a car pulled up along side me.
The window rolled down and Coach O'Hara was in the car.
"Morgan?" She says as she looks up at me. "What are you doing?" She asks with a concerned expression on her face.
"Walking to school." I say with my head down. I was embarrassed. No one walked to school but me and it was pretty embarrassing.
"C'mon, hop in. I'll drive you." Coach O'Hara says. At first I didn't move. I didn't know if it was the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do.
But, I ended up pulling on the door handle as I slid into the front passenger seat.
Coach O'Hara began driving me to the college that I attended. I went to the College of Costal Georgia and it was a small college. I simply couldn't afford the money for a dorm so I stayed home the college was literally walking distance so it worked out. The car ride was silent and honestly, a bit awkward.
We pulled up at the front of the school and she parked the car, signaling for me to get out.
"Thanks." I mumble as I grab my bag and open the car door.
"Anytime." Coach O'Hara says with a smile. I wave at her as she drives away. Then, I walk into the school and meet up with JJ.
"You're here early." She says as she looks at me head to toe.
"Yeah." I say as I run my hand through my long brown hair.
"So what do you think of Coach O'Hara?" JJ asks as we walk towards our first class.
"Pretty cool." I say at the thought of her.
She was definitely more than just cool. She was simply amazing. The way she treated the team especially me caught my eye and attention.
The fact that she drove me to school this early in the morning. It was something that I didn't expect but I knew that Coach O'Hara was more than just a pretty cool coach.
Coach O'Hara was much more than that.
After school, JJ drove me home. I grabbed my practice stuff and together we went to the practice field for practice today.
Like alway, Coach O'Hara was already at the field alone. She was shooting perfect shots towards the goal, each of them hitting each corner of the goal. She was really good as a defender.
I watched in awe at her talent and how amazing she truly was at soccer. I shook the thoughts away from my head as I laced up my boots and waited for the rest of the team to show up.
"Hey, Morgan." Coach O'Hara says as she walks up to me with that beautiful smile of hers.
"Hi, Coach O'Hara." I say with a small smile.
"How are you feeling with your head and all?" She asked me as she leaned to one side with a ball in her hand.
"I'm good." I say as I tighten my pony tail and fix the blue pre wrap on my head.
"Good." Coach O'Hara says with a smile. Then, she called the team over and we got started with practice.
Once practice came to an end, Coach O'Hara gathered us for a brief team meeting.
"All of you have been working extremely hard this past week and for some of you, I know it's been challenging but there's always room for improvement. Now, these are this seasons schedules for our games. Our first game is in two weeks and by then, we should be well prepared. Any questions please come talk to me." Coach O'Hara says and finally she dismissed us.
She handed everyone the schedules and when she gave mine I saw some writing on it. I walked away from everyone else and read what it said.
"Morgan, you are a wonderful asset to the team and I can't wait to watch you improve throughout the season. Here is my number if you ever need anything. Coach O'Hara."
I looked up and saw Coach O'Hara looking at me with a small smile on her face before she turned away.
Coach O'Hara gave me her number. But why?
