Kelley's POV

With all the strength I had, I put her arm around me and basically dragged her to my car.

I placed her in the back seat and spread a blanket over her. Who did this to her? And what was she hiding?

It was hard seeing her in so much pain but I didn't know what to do. I knew I couldn't take her to the hospital because there was obviously something wrong in her house hold. And, the last thing I wanted was for her to be taken away by the state.

I drove to my house and dragged and carried Morgan into my two story home. I brought her up to the spare room that was right next to my room.

I laid her on the bed and pulled the covers over her. She was unconscious, she isn't going to remember much from what happened but I wish she had told me sooner.

As she laid unconscious on the bed, I grabbed a towel and soaked it with cold water as I began cleaning her face. She looked so peaceful, she looked beautiful.

I shook the thoughts away.

I continued to stare at her and began to study her features. Despite the bruise around her eye she was in fact, one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen in a while. Especially in this area.

Yes, she was young, but she was beautiful. I gently stroked my finger against her cheek knowing that she couldn't feel a thing.

She was unconscious.

What is she going to think when she wakes up? What if she doesn't remember anything from last night and she turns out scared that she's in my house?

Will she remember that she called me asking for help? Will she remember anything at all?

All these questions ran through my mind and I couldn't jump to any conclusions.

I let out a sigh. I needed to see her injuries so I can care for them. I gently removed the covers and slowly lifted up the shirt she was wearing.

My eyes widened when I saw bruises covering her entire stomach.

She was hurt, she was in danger and I, being her coach, felt responsible for my players and my team.

I pulled her shirt back down and I stood up and left the room. I kept the door halfway open just in case she woke up, then I heard something.

I turned around and looked over at Morgan. I went over to her bedside and laid my hand over hers.

"Morgan?"

".... where am I?" She mumbled with her eyes still closed.

"You're safe now, that's all that matters, okay?"

"What happened?" Morgan asked with her eyes still closed.

"You got hurt." I say not wanting to get into any detail until she can fully function.

"I shouldn't... I shouldn't... I shouldn't have called you." She mumbled as she stumbled with her own words.

"You did the right thing, Morgan. Calling me was the right thing to do. You needed help."

"You should have left me." She says and slowly her eyes fluttered open, barely.

"I wasn't going to do that." I say.

"Why?"

"Because I care."

"No one cares about me." Morgan said.

"People do care about you, Morgan. I don't know what you're going through, I don't know how to help you but you need to tell me what's going on so I know what to do. I care about my players and their well being."

"..." she mumbled something but I couldn't understand.

"Just get some rest, okay?" Her head slowly nodded and she went back to sleep.

What was wrong?
