"Emma, I'm worried about you."

"Why?" I questioned, eyeing the 'water' bottle sitting in front of me.

"You threw up twice on Saturday. That's dangerous." Alice whispered, keeping her voice quiet so nobody in the class could hear us.

"I wasn't that drunk." I lied. Of course I was piss drunk but I couldn't admit it. She didn't need to know about my problem.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

I focused my attention to the teacher in the front of the class room, going on about physics. Nothing bored me more.

"Excuse me?" a boys voice came from the door behind me. Our teacher stopped lecturing and gave the boy his attention.

"These are from Ms. Lennox." he stated. I finally turned around, only to see Luke Hemmings holding a thick folder full of papers. He was dressed in uniform like every boy at my school. Long khaki pants and a white button up shirt, which he lazily tucked in. The sleeves were pushed up to reveal his forearms. Shouldn't he get in some kind of trouble for that? I wasn't allowed to pull up my skirt, why should he get to push up sleeves?

"Thank you, Luke."

"Welcome." As he was turning around his eyes flicked to mine, and lingered on me a little longer than I'd have liked. I diverted my eyes away from his, focusing on the tile of the classroom floor. Without another word, he was gone, and class returned as normal.

That could be the most contact I've ever had with him in the 12 years we had gone to school together, and I didn't like it. Why would he look at me? He knows he's not supposed to. I would bet his mom had given him a similar speech to what mine had. 'Don't talk to that Baldwin girl, she's nothing but trouble, and comes by it naturally.'

I couldn't understand why this big rivalry had started over a simple house, but I guess people are dramatic.

"Everybody, I've chosen partners for our next project. You're expected to give me a PowerPoint of at least 10 slides on laws of thermodynamics."

I looked at the board, disappointed to see I wasn't with Alice, but not disappointed to see I was with Emmett. We'd kissed a couple times at parties, but he didn't get as wild as I did. He was on the soccer team, which caused him to be more cautious with alcohol. I wish I had that control.

"Looks like it's you and me, Baldwin." Emmett stated as the bell rang.

"I'll be over at 5."

Here's the thing.

I hadn't done anything more than kiss a boy in at least 2 months.

So me subtlety throwing myself at Emmett wasn't really my fault. So what if I wanted to have sex? Guys got to do it all they wanted without facing persecution. I just wished I could do the same.

And technically, this was too easy. Emmett was such a fuckboy.

Such a fuckboy that he didn't even bring his backpack to work on a school project.

"Where are your parents?" He asked, following me up the stairs.

"I think Seattle. I don't really know."

"Cool."

He followed me into my room, taking a seat on my bed. I grabbed my laptop and took a seat next to him, turning it on and pretending like we'd actually get part of this project done.

We worked for maybe ten minutes, before Emmett was asking for a break. We'd barely finished the first slide and he claimed to be 'mentally exhausted'.
